The smallest Fairline today is the 33 and it is a fabulous boat. Depending on spec, it’s about half a million.
Fairline had a good show. They launched the new 58 model and sold five of them. Price starts at about £1.5m, so think £2m for high spec.
Wow. If I wind back to the first boat my Dad bought, in 1976, it was a Fairline Vixen, the very boat that Fairline had on display at the London Boat Show. Can remember as a kid sitting on it while at the show. Every couple of years the boats got bigger as my Dad gave Sam Newington a ring for the next one!
Fairline are on another level today though it seems!

As boats/brands get bigger, new players come in underneath. So for those wanting a smaller and less expensive option there are now Quicksilver, Beneteau Antares, etc.

Thread drift alert!

For anyone who doesn't like the sound of the MC20 out of the box, maybe this addresses it for you?

I think I prefer the OE sound personally. It's never going to sound like a NA V8, but that will be consigned to history now sadly

Sounds near identical to my Giulia Quadrifoglio.

I noticed that whatever changes to the exhaust were made on various Giulia's the 90 Degree V6 sounded the same just louder or quieter.

Sadly, not for me. IMO, an RS3 sounds better than that. If I had £200k to spend on a car, I’d take a Portofino M over an MC20. Maybe one day.

Today, southbound M6, I spied a weird set of tail lights glowing in the darkness ahead. I thought that it might be some sort of MacLaren but, as I approached I identified it as being an MC20. Well, what does one do as one passes such a supercar which is dawdling along the centre lane at 60mph? Of course, one drops the old girl 3 gears and pins it into the blinding spray, giving owner of said supercar what we call a full-fat, fly by. Shortly after, he came past me and obviously I reciprocated before chopping into, sorry skilfully joining, the row of traffic exiting at J16. I did give a thumbs up, but that may well have looked like a middle finger in the low light. His illegal (black) rear number plate showed what looked like 8AT. Nice number, nice car.

I like them but as ever with Italian cars I think waiting for the facelift will be best for those that can afford
Too many early teething probs from what I’ve heard

Wasn't there one for sale on AT recently with sub 5k miles, at 130 grand? That's a pretty nasty hit already?

I didn’t see that one, £150k HR Owen car the only one I’ve seen sub £150k.
Parks (main dealer) have a blue one listed at £153k on 11,000 miles, surely in reach at under £150k as well, which was the first to draw my attention to the tumbling values.

where are values going?

this is such a 'classy' spec.

£60k off list? Are they now selling at lower than list?

Like most 'extras' they are not worth much come sale time on the used market despite the ludicrous cost when new.

If the MC20 is anything to go by the Grantursimo Trofeo will be annoyingly affordable in 2 years….. still don’t know if I would however as the V8 noise is such a defining characteristic of the old GT, and by the sound of that GT2 MC20 above no exhaust trickery is going to be able to address that. Still sounds pretty flat to me.
