Top man. I used to be a cycling coach, and once people had achieved a small level of fitness, it was always incredibly rewarding to see the look on their face to discover that the '20 miles or so' loop they had just ridden, was in fact 45, and done in an easy three hours before lunch. Always came as a deep shock to them, that they could cycle 'so far', and without pain... It amazed me that when I cycled a mere 17 miles to the office, my colleagues were stunned at such a feat, yet with a small effort they were pretty much all perfectly capable of doing the same.

Hat's off to you Matt - it's a great way to get and keep fit.

It fair smarts when squirted up the nose.............. can't imagine trying it elsewhere!

Cycling is banned over here....cos by the time you'd arrive at your destination, you'd be suffering from trench foot!

Ok off out on my first biggy, 20 mile circuit of the country lanes. It should take 2hrs but I do have to try and pass a rather nice country pub.

Ill report back to let you know how it went.

20.7 miles in 90mins so averaging 15mph which, considering the hills, was not bad.
