Dealer is lucky to get that through as a claim, didn’t it fail on you way home/ day of collection
Yes, within 6 miles of collecting it! But these things happen and up until that point I was happy for it tone fixed and I could carry on my merry way - I'm getting a bit fed up now though.

Pretty sure you have, but you have to do what's right for you. Best of luck!

It's something that I don't want to do, but I will if I have to. I need to make sure all my ducks are in a row from a contractual pov though.

Unbelievable.
We’ll, it’s not actually, it’s totally believable.

What it is though is tragic customer service from retailers that deserve to go out of buisness, frankly. All in my opinion of course!

I'm not a professional but I think they are. The car was faulty. End of

Yep, the car sales business is so full of cowboys. I hate that I fall for it every **** time

I totally agree with you but the feeling dealer wasn't budging and told me basically that's what the warranty was for. I'd never buy another car from them and afaik I still have the option to send it back under the distance selling act.
Gris Paulo by any chance?

What I said earlier on in the thread, it’s not so much as a fault occurring but how it’s dealt with that makes or breaks a car buying experience. What a shower of sh1t the dealer is. I’m surprised the warranty company have entertained it with the fault happening almost as soon as you drove away. Whenever I’ve made a claim on a third party warranty I’ve always had to pay up front and claim back from the warranty company. I hope it all gets resolved quickly and you can start to enjoy your car.

It’s embarrassing how bad some companies can be. Especially in this day and age when bad customer care can be exposed/shared so widely and quickly.

Hope you get it sorted quickly, even if that means paying now and then being reimbursed shortly afterwards (even though that feels wrong).

I have heard dealers doing this before. That releasing cars until payment has been received from the warranty company. I suppose it is the same as when you pay yourself. They wouldn’t give the car back until you pay. Not sure if it is right or not. Hope you get it back soon.

I imagine they have no right at all to retain the car, the works will have been instructed by the warranty company and so the contract is between them and the the dealer.
I would be there making a massive fuss

All solved now - it'll be ready for collection tomorrow, I could've collected it tonight but there was a miscommunication which meant I couldn't get to the dealership.
