There are no pubs on the right... Not for the last 70 years, anyway - how long ago did you make the trip? :)

I think you might mean The Ford Inn, on the A635, junction with Thick Hollins Road.

I don't think it was that one drew..?? I maybe have the road wrong, I am still looking, I'm sure it was on the right and it stood on it's own. I've looked at the Huntsman and the Ford and I don't think it's either, so I will keep looking..!! If anyone has some suggestions of somewhere, please pitch in..!!

I'll be up for that but I'm afraid I'll be in a "chav" mobile Range Rover Sport.

Yes Huntsman or The Ford Inn on the left then you are into Holmfirth.
Another alternative is the Oil can cafe at the Carding Shed Hepworth, just outside of Holmfirth.

Don't know the Oil can cafe Mike - sounds interesting!

How about The Three Acres? Right under the Emley Moor tv mast, so very easy to find, and a big flat carpark :)

You sure it wasn't a local pub for local people? Sounds like you had a lucky escape!

I like "local pubs for local people", makes me feel right at home..!! Three Acres is not bad and an idea, food is good, not inexpensive, but good..!! So shall I go with that then..??
So shall we make a date then, 1st, or 2nd. February at what, 12 Noon at Three Acres..?? I will try and check long range weather and see what it's like..!!

As far as I can see so far, the weather is cold but reasonable..!!

The Oil Can Cafe is next to Ian Kellett Classic and Racing Garage in Hepworth.
He services and restores classic and racing cars, plus a rolling road.
The Cafe he opened up next door is an old school type cafe with 1950's traditionally dressed staff, tea in china cups etc, good food and cakes, with old cars, cars for sale, in the cafe. Also a few internal shops with motoring memorabilia, books and classic period clothes for sale.
It is worth a run out, open all week all day.
