Old fuel

So I think the fuel in my handy garden destroyer is past it. It's about 2 years old, and in the 2-stroke it'll idle but tends to quit when engaging the throttle.

Where on earth do you get rid of a couple of litres of petrol?

Will be diff; I had to change out the strummer a couple of weeks ago but that was barely a cup full, I just flung it down the alleyway on the loose stones. Not overly worried as it won’t burn!

I had to get rid of a full tank of contaminated petrol from one of my cars a few years back, could not find an “official solution”.
Thank fully the local scrappy drink in my local pub and he collected it, for what reason or what they did with it, I have no idea.
Makes good weed killer on a a gravel drive as well ;) But stinks a bit.

Keep it for cleaning oily bits that's what I would do.

Don't have enough oily bits

In the Bentley?

It throws a CEL if you give it 95!

I'm obliged, but North London is a fair way to go ;)

Ditto the above...
I have a number of litres of used coolant which none of the recycling centres in my area will accept, despite the best advice being to use this service...
Waste disposal in this country is a scam of conscience..( in the least !)

Of course it does also give me the answer, but it didn't really occur to me.

Your neighbour’s diesel Mondeo?

More, actually, that my neighbours have a diesel Mondeo. Or did you mean the Bentley?

C
Have you got a Bentley ? :)
I was thinking you had a small amount of 2 stroke fuel which if it went into a diesel would do little harm especially an older one.

For the petrol and the coolant mentioned, obviously your engine blew up ;) so I'd be tempted to mix it with some old oil and take it to the tip. They have places to pour old engine oil in. Won't even be questioned.

If you think waste collection in the UK is fun you should try here. The recycling centres are very strict and there are wobbles on site to ensure compliance, there is no mixed recycling so something with metal and plastic. There is no concept of a general tip so lots of stuff can't be left, for instance you can't leave old sofas, bedding or anything mixed plus you have to pay. The only way to clear general rubbish is to hire a skip which you then have to pay a dumping fee on top of the skip rental.

You might have red tape in the UK but it is nothing like over here accept what you have.
