Look at dave's profile, the pictures are there...and yes, that number plate does look wonky!

Lovely car, Dave. The mix of black & chrome really makes it stand out.

Yes yes
The number plate was wonky when I bought it.
Now it is fixed!
Thanks for all the compliments.
The interior is tan with piano black trim and black carpets.
gorgeous in my opinion!
The tan seating keeps the interior light and airy and not oppressive.
My one regret is there is no sunroof!
But I still love her

Am I the only one who has an issue with camshaft variators on here ?

My Gran Turismo very occasionally made alarming metallic clanking noises on start up, but only in very cold weather (and it is kept in a garage). Someone told me that it was the variators, but I haven't had them checked as it hasn't done it for months now......

Driving along at low speed, when I noticed a brief flashing of the CEL light, accompanied by some vibration of the car and a knocking type of noise from the car.

I turned the car off, and restarted - the same problem.

Second restart, revved the engine , and again, the same - as the revs fall towards idle, there is a distinct knocking noise from the engine and vibration of the car.

The CEL light is now permanently on. A "Engine Control System Failure" message came up, and then "Go to Dealer".

The engine wont idle without revs and is lumpy like its running on four cylinders - dealer diagnosed the fault as variator valves and repair bill is about £3k

I would like to know how common this fault is as I heard that QP's are virtually unsellable without this being done usually advertised as "cam caps replaced" or similar

I am aware of the issue but strange how it only seems to impact the QP. I did however think the variators were more of a clattering issue.

Hope you get it fixed for minimal outlay.
