QP Specification for 2004 models

Have extracted my QP from the garage this morning, ready to use later today. All the visitors this morning have commented on the Maser, and haven't mentioned any other car parked outside

They are great, aren't they? I took mine to Sainsburys today (exciting, eh?) and walking back to it, parked proudly in the furthest bay to try and avoid parking knocks, I was thinking 'what a car, how lucky am I to be driving it'.

4. Need to replace the drivers wing mirror glass - expensive? how do I swap it over?.

I vaguely remember someone saying these are Alfa 166 door mirrors.

For the 2004-2008 QP's its the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, the whole lot has a full price of about £1200 so don't clip them!

Try Eurospares.

Anybody know where I can get the springs from that open the fuel filler cap? Mine have rusted and fallen apart.

There is a schematic there as well to identify the part. Sounds like you need an actuator , about £26.

Thanks. Part ordered. Also ordered. the wing mirror glass. Anybody know how to fit it as I don't want to spend another £80+ !

Has the original just cracked or lost? If its lost then can you see how it would have connected? You might need the workshop manual to find out , you might have to remove the whole mirror assembly.

Congrats on the new purchase justhb. I have an '04 QP myself and have been very pleased with it. Sure it can be expensive to run but I think the present used car prices more than compensate for that. It's a lot of car for sub 20k - enjoy.

I have never experienced the issues you experienced in your list. How many of them are still outstanding? I'll see if I can take a look at my car to discover any clues.

Had a quick look in both the owners manual and the workshop manual and I couldn't see anything in there as regards the wing mirror bulb replacement!

Hi,
Quick update=:
1. Replacement wing mirror glass ordered - even Europarts guy unsure how to fit it! Hopefully when the new part arrives, it will become apparent.
2. Similarly, bulb replacement will be clear.
3. Have fixed the rear entertainment DVD player but still need to work out why the IR headphones don't work.
4. No further ahead with the digital TV conversion. Maybe I just forget this.
5. Fixed the boot opening problem and have a good understanding of the mechanical workings!
6. Still need to trace the airbag fault - may get a second hand Alfa dashboard switch. Failing that, remove front seats and clean up the electrical contacts.
