Scuderia Scaglieti - West London Independent Dealer - Anyone Experienced them?

Newbie here, so first and foremost, a big hello to all of you lovely likeminded Maserati lovers! I drive a fully blacked out Nero Carbonio 2010 Maserati Granturismo S Auto (https://www.instagram.com/theblackmaserati/), and along with the common options, its got a real party piece too: Valve controlled (now devalved as the remote actuator was acting up) Larini Club Sport Rear Boxes with black quad tips. The sound is phenomenal.

Anyway, coming to the point of this thread - my car is due for its sixth year service, having completed 36000 miles and having had its last major four year service at HR Owen London. Previous services were also all main dealer, done by earlier owners at Gray Paul and Dick Lovett. I have briefly visited Scuderia Scaglieti (http://scuderiascaglieti.com/) in Chiswick, West London, and they are a relatively new business with an impressive facility and knowledgable staff with previous main dealer professional working history.

As their cost of servicing is considerably lower than main dealer quotes, I was wondering if any of you have previously had any experience with their services in any form? Any sort of information would help in making my decision.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome.

Unless I miss my guess, that's Aldous Voice's new outfit in which case I will recommend them un-conditionally.

Honestly Aldous and Ash are genuinely the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable of blokes and have a lovely facility down there in Chiswick, i called in recently and took some advice from Voicey about a project and also had a guided tour of the workshop etc and was very impressed. I've also been invited to the anniversary party which I really need to sort plans out for!!!

Recently used Aldous to service my 4200 , I was really impressed with how professional he was , even to the point of sending me pictures as the process went on . I would have no issues with recommending them what so ever , there also have great coffee and Ash will talk to you all day about cars .

Yes it's my workshop, along with Ash who is the real brains behind the operation - I just wield the spanners!

Happy to answer any questions you have - we have nothing to hide and you are even welcome to come and see your car on the ramp during the service. If you are free, stop by this Thursday evening (24th) from 1830 for our little get together to celebrate one year in business. Invite applies to anyone who can make - just PM me so I can stay on top of the numbers.

Hi Voicey, I'd love to pop by sometime. Thursday isn't possible, but it's sounds like you may be rather more conveniently located for me than Emblem - excellent as they are I should keep my options open.

Anyone else used these guys? Need to get valves clearances checked and adjusted, emailed a few months ago but heard nothing.

I guess I probably should have just called, but have people found them good so far?

I think this is where Voicey isn't, but even without him I've heard good things about them. Voicey will be popping up in his own premises next month, all being well. In the meantime I'm booked in for a Massive Service at Christian Lewis in Northants. Not exactly close to Essex, but great reputation.

Ah that's interesting, yes I was particularly thinking of Voicey as i saw he had been posting about a a new valve shim tool where two shims can be removed at a time etc.

Hard to decide where to go when in Essex...

One thing is true I think, there is a slight stigma when you own a 3200 perhaps, as there are so many rough ones and they still cost so much to repair, I'm sure some independents have been burnt and or a wary of the gap between what a 3200 owner can afford and needs.

Grimaldi are good but seem to favour long-term restorations rather than ad hoc work. Lancaster I personally have little faith in, plus at £200/hr plus VAT they're frankly taking the p!ss. My experience is that it's worth an early start to get somewhere good. Next week I shall spend a day working from Nortants while my car gets a service.

I'm based in Chiswick and took my QP for a 'health check' shortly after buying it. Really lovely people, a very impressive workshop and great looking reception area! I will certainly be using them for any 'intricate' work that requires deep knowledge of the QP.

I did used to work there we parted company at the end of 2016. However, the owner Ash was in a tight spot staff-wise so I went back in the new year for a couple of months. We are still friends and I am in and out of the workshop doing the odd bit here and there (I was in today putting an engine back together).

However, I am in the process of buying my own workshop and hope to have the keys in a few weeks. I don't want to jinx it by saying too much but all will be revealed soon.

urquattrogus - if you PM me here or though my site I can find out what happened to your email. They are crazy busy but to not respond is unacceptable.
