Should I try to buy a 4200
Hi All,
It's been a while since I've been on here, the house sale/purchase has now fianlly gone through and unfortunately the Masser budget has been largely swallowed by extensive house renovation costs ... I know.
I had previously had a budget of £20k and was looking for 2004/2005 facelift 4200's with 30-38,000 miles on the clock. However, I had started questioning the economics of buying a low mileage car. I realised that as soon as I hit 40,000+ miles I knock a fair amount off the value, I expect from £~20k down to £15-17k. So I pay a premium for the low mileage and then by driving it I devalue it. I therefore came to the conculsion that I should start looking at higher mileage cars.
Please disagree with me if you think i am wrong.
The other issue is the year. Having done all the reading to look to buy a 2004/2005 facelift car, I really would want a car which had the 2003 mechanical upgrades (CC gearbox, MSP, skyhook etc). Thanks all,
R
