I don't think most people realise how much of their lives are being monitored, tracked, recorded and used.

Even data when your mobile phone handshakes with a mast is recorded and stored. So it doesn't matter if you have location services turned off. If you have your mobile phone turned on with signal they can track movements. Data is very much power it seems.

Samsungs do not even need to be turned on, they power the Ariel and tracking outside of the phone hardware. It uses a wrap around on the battery itself!

I saw something a while back where a car helped in the conviction of a murderer

Mercedes , the black box stored everything , the police got a court order for mercedes to release the information

It gave them all the GPS info you'd imagine but it had accurate timings for all the opening and closing of the doors , they knew he'd driven to the burial site, opened the boot to remove the body and tools then an hour later it was open for less time because he was just putting the tools back in the car
What are you trying to insiuate?

I've just moved from Admiral after poor service and a hike in premium. Saw AIB insurance was a sponsor on here so got in touch. Would recommend talking to Leah as nothing was too much trouble and couldn't be happier.
Ditto, AIB were cheaper than Admiral and because I mentiioned that they sponsor the forum got 'free' Protected no claims bonus. Thanks @AIB Insurance and Leah

All this data tracking infuriates me , it’s my data because I make it so if you’ll want it you should have to pay me especially if you are making money out of my data. If only I could get that as business so people had ownership rights over their own data and had rights to the income that generated

I agree.strongly on this as well. They should pay us to use our data and we should always own it. This is not the case and it even gets sold to 3rd parties without our knowledge of where or who it goes to.

This is to the benefit of large global tech giants often who as we know don't pay their fair share of domestic taxes due to complex global tax arrangements/infrastructures.

At any point I should be able to ask where my data has gone and where it is. I suspect that is impossible. This is not right.

I was wondering how they’d tracked the copper in the Sarah Everard case. I thought he would have known better to drive around with his phone. But, I heard he had a hire car, so presumably the investigators just used the tracking data from the vehicle. So if you want to commit a crime, get on a bike!

Or buy an old car with zero electronic tech. Definitely don't take your mobile and/or use Google Maps as a Sat Nav to direct you to the burial site!

yep then clone some plates of another similar vehicle and don’t buy fuel or food, don’t use a cash point or credit card...

Single skin wings? Don’t drive too quickly round a corner! Did that in the MGB with a crankshaft in the boot and stuck a lovely dent in the rear wing.

I do feel guilty abusing the old girl but didn't have the trailer this weekend.
