If I ever get caught going slow enough not to warrant getting points, that would be my attitude too. I guess I would be leaving with 6 points and a bollocking! I too, can get patronised at home, but I do occasionally get fringe benefits at home which takes the edge off the patronising.

haha! you nailed it :)

Unfortunately, the insurance companies are starting to penalise:

Why doesn't that surprise me :(

At least in Ireland the insurance companies are now taking a more enlightened attitude to 'tax cameras'; proposal forms now ask you to list your convictions EXCLUDING speeding fines. They obviously believe speeding fines are revenue harvesting and have no bearing on the risk to be insured.

just read what Admiral actuallly said!

"Although a speed awareness course is a replacement for penalty points, it does not change the fact that the person involved has committed a speeding offence." - true, but courses are offered to lower speed offenders
"Our claims statistics show that drivers who have committed a speeding offence could be a higher risk than drivers who do not commit speeding offences - "COULD?!?!?" are all speeding offences equal?? so you're actaully saying a speed awareness course is a COMPLETE waste of time, and changes nothing
"This means that people attending a speed awareness course are more likely to make a claim and we price these risks accordingly," the company said -"ARE?!?!?!" post hoc flawed, profiteering b0ll0cks!

Gave up on Admiral years ago when they told me that metallic paint on my Audi was a modification as it was a deviation from the manufacturer's standard specification. I then wondered how many of their cars were effectively wrongly insured.

My reason for giving up on Admiral was when they told me that because someone drove into my wife's parked car (she saw them do it and the claim was recovered from the third-party insurer) she was a higher risk and therefore had to pay an increased premium. And then they couldn't tell us by how much the premium was increased. Sharks.

Yup....and we are the sardines.......though must say I have a very low premium quote this time.......but with a company with a poor reputation.....;)

I'm sure you read all the minute print frank and asked them all sorts of awkward questions that they could'nt, would'nt or should'nt answer.. and then went elsewhere.

But.....you avoided my question. what the f*** are you doing up on that lump of stone.

BJL,
I like your style mate, it reminded me of my escapade, some of the stuff you would never notice even if you were doing 10 miles an hour, only if you stopped and gazed around for a few minutes. How anbody could see and register everything in a street scene whilst on the move is just a joke.
Benny,
We all know your philosophy is to drive too fast to get caught mate, but some of these TAX CAMERA'S are hidden and the temporary ones are really sneaky. I have to constantly watch the motorway bridges for the darn things, which is taking your eye off the road so to speak, but that's life at high speed.
Cheers

I came home to a letter from Essex Police for a tax camera on the Broomfield Road, Chelmsford.... Seems Jeanette has been careless again!

If it is offered I think it would be the preferred option... She already has one set of points the ink are wet on!

She is collecting them then, she does know you don't get any goods the more you collect and you can't exchange them for anything, apart from your licence if you collect enough..??
