Try as I may I can't get in to this "100 Club" and I hear there are allsorts of crazy antics going on behind closed doors already, WHEN DO i GET MY PASS..??

Anyway, one final thank you for all the support, Benny and I leave on Sunday after my London to Portsmouth initial leg with Urby. Mankini and Lycra is all packed along with some interesting crutch cream :)

Wish me luck...its not the thought of the cycle a thousand miles that disturbs me, it the though of spending 2 weeks with the Nantwich Foghorn and all his foibles and anti French sentiments!

We go to my house in Emsworth then load the car and bikes and drive to the ferry terminal for 10pm for 11pm sailing.

Good luck Matt - I am sure you will be fine-there will be times when "mentally" you will be challenged - my advice is too focus on family, friends and the cause, put those images in your head and keep peddaling!!!
Remember that when your body says it has had it, its only really given a bit of what it can handle.

Well this is it. Matt and me setting off on Sunday for the first leg. Just wish I was doing the whole ride with him. Even though he will be cycling alone through France I know he will be fine and especially with Benny nursing him. The route he is doing will be fantastic and cycling alone long distance is a great way of freeing your mind. We want loads of pictures

Go for it Matt, we are all there with you in spirit mate..!! When you start flagging, just think that a load of young French ladies are there admiring your athletic body pumping away at those pedals mate, you will stoke the fire in those tired limbs and off you go at full pelt..!!

One of the biggest challenges comes tonight, when he has to moderate his pre-ride drinking. I'll say that again, 'moderate his pre-ride drinking', since reading it just once will be auto-blanked by his drinking eyes; Dem, don't try to kill him tonight!!!

Gutted I can't be riding with you mate; as people have said it's mostly a mental challenge, but I'm sure you are up to that aspect.
