Jeanette has just had to complete a witness statement with the police following up from the recovered Mito. It seems they managed to get a DNA match from it and have caught the burgling scumbag!!!!!

No sign of my car but some satisfaction in knowing he is caught at least. The police wanted to know if his name was known to us! I shall not put it on here for obvious reasons.

Something of a result :)

Hopefully they will get some sort of sentence that is a deterrent, although I very much doubt it. At least they now have someone to question about where your car went/is.

Both cars are now the insurance companies and the Mito was written off in the police chase. There is no information on the Maserati though.

That is something, I really didn't hold out too much hope if I'm honest so it will be interesting to see what happened to the Maserati.

Interesting, the Maz may turn up yet!

I appreciate you probably don't want it back but it will be closure at least.

Good news. Has a similar experience with some stolen goods years ago. Did help a bit knowing that the scumbag got caught.

If his DNA is on file it's not a first offence so hopefully he'll get a long sentence.

Don't have to be convicted of anything for them to take your DNA.
I had an argument with someone when my Rally car got damaged in a petrol station.
So be careful out there.

Name being known to you? Not because they think that you might have lent / sold it to him or that if it was someone who could potentially have had access to your house / keys for legit reasons then that could have a bearing on the insurance company's response?

Like the significance of the boiling kettle in one of the stories, which wouldn't have occurred to me, not having seen that dark side of life, presumably the police / insurers do come across people with families / "friends" who do steal from each other - e.g. to pay for a drugs habit, which isn't confined to any socio-economic group - Jesse Pinkman.

Well yes that as well, I guess they have to ask, also Jeanette works with 'transient' communities (as a health visitor) in East London, mostly Romanian but they needed to check she had not encountered him through work either which would be a possibility if he is a family man (man used in the loosest sense)!
