I don't think spending more cash is any kind of guarantee though. I think you just need a chunky war chest for a GT, or a warranty (I'm about to make a profit on mine this year if what I think is happening is happening)
If you look at what's happened on mine, none of which would have been caught by servicing..
Exhaust manifold cracked
Reg / rectifier gone
Oil pressure sender weeping
Cracked front spring
Cracked rear spring
Front ABS sensor
Airbag deactivation switch
Now some of those things might have been caught in a service, but Dick Lovett had it last before I bought it so I'm not at all confident. I will be sending it for annual checkups, that's for sure!
If I recall Contigo's was a lot more than mine (although his is MC clearly) and it's had a similar load of warranty work?
