Just found out that one of my old lorry drivers from Asda died in a car crash last night..Really sad as he was one of the real characters in the place.

Morning all

Mrs Catman's 50th birthday and her dad's 80th fall in the same year, so today we have open house for extended family. Only 40+ people coming. I think I will be tired, emtional and probably ******.

Have a great day, all

Morning.

Me too, can't manage to keep up to date since you bought her! Appears like a roller coaster ownership experience!

Morning all,

Drive out into North Yorks today just for the **** of it.

Have to call the dealer though as I've had a 'Service Tire Pressure Management System' message pop up. All of the sensors are still working so I'm hoping it's just a reset.

Spoke to my Turkish friend in Istanbul who is staying at a friends tonight ( the roads are closed and a curfew is in place) and he says that this won't result in Military rule and that Erdogan will continue to be President despite news reports to the contrary.

I'm not entirely sure that is true!

So managed to get in contact. She works at a news agency and their office got raided and all their phones confiscated.

She couldn't get home so is staying at a colleagues.

This is an interesting read. Which one of them is supported by the US??

Morning all, Happy Birthday Tess :D

US getting involved with Middle East politics surely not???? Given that they have found oil off Cyprus, I guess it is likely to extend into Turkish waters too but no they wouldn't would they?

Keeping my head down here, got plenty of things to get on with in the garage including removing the 415 motor off the post lift so I can get it matched with 230/415v tree phase equivalent and I can get the thing properly commissioned. Got some parts to weld up and repair on some outdoor gym equipment; very old Chinese item so that'll be fun!

Fella that rented a pair of garages next to us got served a notice to leave two weeks ago and last weekend was all enthusiastically emptying engines and loads of valuable items out. Yesterday evening I notice he has simply taken his locks and left both full to the rafters with cr@p, oh joy I wonder how much of that will get chucked out in the alley before it is resolved.

Have fun all...

Yeah, I'm keeping a bit quiet because there will probably be some small claims stuff and I don't want to jinx getting it back!

Morning all, driven back home, slept for a few hours now repacked a bag for a trip to Brighton for a 20/40/60th birthday party.
Tomorrow will see me fly out to Jersey for our anniversary. Looks like we've got the weather spot on.

Afternoon all. Quality time at my brothers wedding.

However, having to drive a loud shouty Maser feeling somewhat jaded isn't the best of ideas.

Oh well. Ibiza in 2 days! Whay hey!

Though so far I have only managed to cut down three willow trees in the hedge, run out of places to put them! Must have been 25' high...

Put the roof on the 8m carport this afternoon, and have a mightily bruised thumb joint now, since the torque-clutch failed on the battery drill I was using to drive the tek-screws. Big kick from the drill handle every time a screw was driven home :(

Still, that's another job completed before I go back to the Alps next week to watch the Tour de France come past the house! There are actually 3 stages to see within a few miles on Thurs/Fri/Sat; starting with a time trial from Sallanches to Megeve, a mountain stage finishing in Bettex above St Gervais (ski resort where my mate Sylvain has a shop), then another starting in Megeve, coming past our place and finishing in the mountains at Morzine/Avoriaz.
