Given the current instability a contract that paid in Euros wouldn’t be a bad thing.

I’ve an offer just negotiating the terms. Should be sorted by the end of the week.

@MATT/Peter - nothing like ramping up the prices based on demand. Nothing can be as bad as St Mark’s Square in Venice €18 for a single!
Denmark still has Kronor, tho to be fair rate is tied to Euro.

Worked in Copenhagen for a year, tax not bad, rate stonking, Denmark bit boring. Makes sure you avail yourself of ETS with SKAT, more or less 30% flat rate tax.

Will be for TOTAL (E & P) in Esbjerg, yes the rate is good and will be stonking if I go offshore,
As far as I know all the tax is done through " a company" - Not sure how it all affects my Ltd Co etc, my mate is out there now and reckons he brings home 76-78% of earnings, free breakfast / lunch, gym membership etc etc.
Will have to look into the ETS with SKAT - No idea what that is...

ETS = Ex-Pat Tax Scheme. SKAT = Danish HMRC

I was on it (you only get it once) so I'm buggered if another role in Copenhagen comes up. You can use UK Ltd over there but as you know doubt know it's a nightmare with one man companies and deemed presence, the company moves with the director/employee. So you'd be liable for Danish tax day one both personally and corporate.

People bang on about the 183 day rule etc not really understanding what it's all about. That's for 'posted employees' - if you are the only employee it doesn't work. Works for IBM et al but not Joe Bloggs One-man Ltd.....

When I was there I went through GTS Nordic, much like an agency here but with one caveat, they don't factor, you get paid when they get paid.

Thanks for that - may be back for more later - via pm,
I've some online tests to do and then a video interview 6am Friday - so need to get through that lot first - and I'm not so sure want to be working away again, but 2 years would substantially increase the pension pot..

Ah’hm, morning all, I seem to have slipped int late PM before saying so! We drove solo out of Monaco and down to Pisa today, Jeanette enjoyed many of the miles behind the wheel, we have been up the wobbly towers and are now heading 80 miles back on ourselves to the hotel to join the others.

Had fun all...?

Good morning all...Two days to go then a long weekend for me.

Likewise, but I do that every week ;) It is the benefit of this contract, 4 day weeks.

Morning all. Another day in the office, weather isn't as sunny today but it does feel a bit warmer so can't complain.

Have a great day all
