We would be a lesser forum without Benny for many many reasons. Comedic value is certainly one. There must have been some crackers over the years

The problem we have here is that there are (at least) two different points of view on the type of things that are posted. Tolerance is the key here. Tolerance, within reason, to accept that some people will say things you don’t like, and tolerance if someone disagrees with you. This is mostly the case right now.

We are too ready to degenerate into a slagging match, piling in on an issue. If you have a concern about a post, talk to a Mod, we will make a decision, without the decay into an unseemly battle of words.

Now, let’s get this thread back on track, namely casual misogyny

I like to see where possible free and open discussion. There are lines and we have mods to deal with this. However these mods have jobs, lives and cannot read every post in real-time or otherwise.

The report facility is there but will take time for someone to deal with. You cannot expect all posts to be read, also then dealt with as quick as what I feel your expectation levels are. It is just not realistic.

I feel often in the modern world many have become a little over sensitive, a little too PC, a little too closed minded in respect to others opposing views of course which they are entitled too the same as anyone else's.

Just because one person thinks it is wrong doesn't make it wrong. Also many opinions are subjective as there isn't a fact in all cases. We are also often never blessed with the full facts about things and often blessed with many incorrect facts about things which skews viewpoints either way. I keep a very open mind for this reason.

If you don't like someone's opinion you can ignore it, not reply and/or block them. This IMHO is not a solid and just reason to over moderate a forum. I want open honest and hard hitting discussions as I feel we often really get down and dirty achieving real results this way. Get it all out there warts and all. As long as it is not personal, or reactive and maintains a balanced line I see no issues.

If you want a nambie pambie forum that is afraid to discuss real issues and support all and any opinion then I don't want this to be it.

Just for the record I'm not trying to gain friends or enemies here. I just feel that being a balanced open minded hard working honest transparent person in society seems a prudent place to be.

Maybe if much of the rest of society had a more open minded and balanced stance we may have less conflict and achieve more in our short time on this planet.

If we had more doers in govt rather than sayers or naysayers then maybe we might get some sh1t done.

As Zep has previously mentioned, the wheels are in motion to rectify the issues some report.

A code of conduct will appear shortly which everyone has to adhere to. If not, it’s an automatic 1 week ban. Persisting will result in stronger measures.

I will be the first to admit that I have taken my eye off the ball with regards to this forum, it’s no surprise why. The introduction of Sportsitalia has taken all of my time but it is forum related...in offering cost effective, transparent service to members.

I also strongly believe the lock down measures are very much affecting members physiological state.

New moderators are being appointed from first Jan 2021, all not from the certain ‘inner circle’ some refer to but 3 persons and regular posters of current.

It’s never been SportsMaserati’s mantra do two things:

1. over moderate
2. charge for use

We will be taking a new direction in 2021 and I urge you all to champion rather than kick that direction.
