....
  • A warning triangle and one reflective jacket per car occupant for use in a breakdown. Without these, you risk being fined around €90
.....

I seem to remember that the jackets need to be need to be be immediately accessible to the people inside the car, not just stuffed in the boot.

And they should be reflective and hi-vis coloured (not just reflective).

That's correct they need to be in the cockpit of the car.
In the glovebox or door pockets or on top of the dashboard if your supporting the cause.

This post has been updated. Please see post #920

Right, COVID-related blah-blah, in chronological order:
  1. Buy a day-2 PCR test before boarding the ferry to go to France and be ready to show the receipt prior to boarding. https://www.boots.com/day-2-day-8-covid-19-testing
  2. Complete a UK gov passenger locator form not more than 48 hours prior to leaving France. You'll receive a QR code via email and will need to show this at check-in. https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk
  3. Take a negative PCR or antigen test in France not more than 72 hours prior to travel. You'll need to show a formal negative result or expect to be denied boarding. Self-test is not an option. We'll try to find where around Le Lude we can get tested, but it should be easy enough. @philw696 any chance you could do some local research and see if there's a pharmacy in Le Lude which we could book make appointments at? You need a break from that workshop, mate.
ALL: please correct if wrong.

This assumes that France returns to the normal amber list on Thursday. Also note that rules are subject to change. Crucially you should not rely on this but do your own research as well.

There are two Pharmacies in Le Lude so you should be okay.
Thanks, Phil. Do you need to book, or is it just a case of show up and throw up? Also, I assume these give formal results with our names on, which we need to show when we check-in for the ferry; is that right?

Most towns have a pharmacy doing the Antigen test required, and there is one in La Chartre. However, you can also order these online in U.K. in advance and take them with you. You can order when you order the PCR day 2 and 8 tests to take after you return. Hopefully this will just be a day 2 test once Boris updates the process this week, as the watch-list idea has been scrapped.

Thanks, Frank. How do you get the confirmation of a negative test in that case; do you send the results back to a UK lab or is there some other process?

Yes you upload the result as part of the U.K. locator form along with proof of the order for your PCR test for when u are back. Lots of suppliers on the internet

Top chap, thanks. Any particular one you'd recommend?
Not really. Plenty of choice abs depends if you want postal or in person. Most of the airlines and ferry co’s have partnered up with one and offer discounts, so see who your chosen ferry operator recommends. Have a stress free trip….just a few weeks now!

Updated COVID blah blah below. Thanks to all for inputs:

  3. Take a negative PCR or antigen test in France not more than 72 hours prior to travel. You'll need to show a formal negative result or expect to be denied boarding. You can either get tested by a nurse / vet / etc. in France or DIY with a self-test antigen kit where you send a photo of the result along with your passport and they email a certificate within 20 mins - 24 hours. I bought this: https://breatheassured.com/product/...ting-service-with-certificate-britishairways/
