Still sounds like battery issues to me.
It shouldn't be going flat in 3 days. I can leave my 3200 for weeks and it starts on the button every time.
When my battery was on it's way out it would still start but the electrics would do all kinds of weird things, this is with the battery showing 12.1v before cranking.
"charged it up enough to start it" is not enough!... if you're not seeing 12.5v on the battery before cranking I think you're going to get problems...
The only way you're going to be sure of this is to fully charge the battery and measure the voltage before starting. See if there is a correlation between battery voltage and throttle behaviour.
Your throttle pedal may be a bit voltage sensitive so the two issues are combining to be a big issue.
