I actually do it quite often on GranTurismo and QPV (stradale sizes gives a bit more meat)
GranSport's aren't that easy i'd imagine if you stick with a 265 section, although I've not yet tried 275 section tires.
Does your sport mode work in making the car harder and softer? suspensions stuck in hard mode isn't uncommon
