It the transponder for the Navtrak. If you have this activated, keep it with you when in the car, but don't leave it in the car when you're not. If it's not activated, use it to correct the wonky leg on the sideboard.

I've not activated it so looks like it's the wonky sideboard leg (have you been round my house!?)

Any idea on Navtrak fees?

From £300.00 per year IIRC. Drops your insurance quote (a little) but whether it's worth it depends on personal preference and circumstances. Had mine activated for a year and yes it does work. Left it at the dealer for service on a number of occasions and as soon as the car was moved, they were on the phone, but in spite of this I decided it wasn't worth it. Think Navtrak got bought by Cobra a couple of years back, so it may be called something else now.

Yes - Cobra have taken them over. My insurance is only £450 with a £250 excess so not going to bother.

Thats the thing with these trackers you pay £100's of pounds yearly to keep them going to get £30 or so off your quote...and to be honest if someone stole your car and trashed it would you want it back......I would never feel the same about it again...

Thats the whole point....its only really for the benefit of the insurers.......these cars can be wrecked in a short period by people who don't care about anything.....cause 10K of damage and you wouldn't know it til 4/6/8 weeks later........

Yes agree ... Not for us but for them......If your insurance company doesn't require you to have one I wouldn't bother...Or if they do find another insurance company.

I was going to ask the same thing, thats good value.

By the way I am going to cancel my navtrak this year its not worth the small saving. There is a set up fee to change it to your name as well as an annual fee, cant remember how much.

I lied!

It was only £385 but a £600 excess. That's with MWA Insurance on a Hagerty Classic Car insurance - great service and have been very competitive for others I have recommended them to.

Ring Ben Stagg on 0845 8720328.

Guys,

If you are doing away with your Nav-Trac services I'll strongly recommend removing the unit from your cars as the system seems to go into panic mode when not in service and thinks noone is listening to it... It keeps trying to send messages to the network and runs down it's own battery. This on mine was a small sealed unit but it had lost any ability to hold a charge and continually drained the main battery giving me a non-starter.

also found out yesterday that the quote did not even use my NCB so I can use it on my other car which will make that quote cheaper as well, I think I have saved more money this week than I have earned..... first time for everything.
