Sadly fully booked, the effect of opening up lockdown, everyone want to eat outFirst question is do you both do seafood? The Oyster bar on the wharf is highly recommended if you do.
Thanks Ewan, this one we have booked already, table at 5pm or 9pm (we are booked at 9pm but still looking for a better option time wise).Samphire is quite good. Ate there, plus several of the beach seafood places (e.g. Lobster Shack) on a weekend break to Whitstable last September.
We also went to the Simpsons Vineyard for a tasting, which was fun and not too distant.
There the fish market place which is by the docks. Its a takeaway spot, but in my opinion serves some of the best food. You just queue up.
Its the place I've been to countless times.
- fresh oysters only
- fresh fish simply battered
After eating some fresh seafood, head to The Neptune pub.
They have indoor and outdoor seating, serve food and if its sunny will have a BBQ going.
Their beer garden is, uniquely, on the beach. This is definitely my favourite place in Whitstable.

+1 for the Crab and WinkleFew years since last been, but the Crab and Winkle on the Quay and the bar/restaurant of the Continental hotel were both excellent
We are staying at the continental so it’s good to know the restaurant is an optionFew years since last been, but the Crab and Winkle on the Quay and the bar/restaurant of the Continental hotel were both excellent
Sadly the Strad will be left at home and we will be in the Jag, fitting the Xpipe was the final strawAnd if the car breaks down, at least AV Engineering is nearby.
May as well have bought a two-seater, Sam.Sadly the Strad will be left at home and we will be in the Jag, fitting the Xpipe was the final straw
