You should change your name to kamikaze , a good friend who i used to contract to , raced superbikes , absolute nutter with fearless intent , regular as clockwork he would turn up at work with a broken collar bone or this or that , he was that pinned together he had a hospita/doctorsl exemption to bypass the metal detectors at airports , and he's still doing it , spoke to him the other night when he was celebrating , had signed a new sponsor for 80% of his last racing season , 2014 he'll be racing sidecars grass track 1300cc and thats him settling down a bit, do take it easy mate

regards loz

My 'Best Man' races bikes. Went to watch him at Brans at the end of the season this year. Twice the helicopter was out, three times the screens went up at the corner after clearways... they're all nuts.

You're all nuts! "kamikaze" you are, Yeti, along with the rest.

My cousin, who now has the hooligans triumph speedtriple, had a string of fireblades when younger. Took me from chepstow to monmouth in no time at all, windy roads... I was terrified! He said that I made a good pillion, but I was just hanging on out of sheer terror, desperate not to put a whisker out of place!

Fast cars don't compare on the limit, or beyond, to bikes, so kudos to you.
Having said that, I've lost two very good friends to bikes, one on his 996 on his stag day.

Take care

Aye, it can be very unforgiving and needn't even be your fault but its like a drug only legal.

Here's a bit of video round Cadwell,, probably the most challenging track in the country and not the place to make a mistake.

Love it, leaning into the corners watching a video, she'll think you potty if you slide off the sofa and get your knee down!

Cadwell is a fantastic circuit in a car as well, albeit not quite as exciting as on a bike. Very technical and easy to screw up.

Looks like a Mini Nurburgring with all the crests and twists. I'm one of the non-biking lot, would love to but wouldn't leave the wife a widow.

Just watched your Cadwell vid. Had my palms sweating all the way! Had my sights set on the guy in front and was reeling him in... was gutted when it ended and I hadn't... sorry, you hadn't caught him.

You're obviously a very inteligent person, judging from your posts and job...

....but you got a screw loose!

Got any more of those vids. Really enjoyed that speed buzz.... from the comfort of my desk

Cadwell looks awesome btw, not been there. Not sure it would be ideal for a Mas though

I usually realise I have a screw loose myself as I slide across the tarmac on my back heading for the tyre wall!!!! By the way, I might have caught Jimmy, but he would never have let me past. His bike was way too fast for me, it was a full blown BSB Suzuki with around 200bhp and he was cruising. The only way past would have been a dirty dive up the inside on the brakes and that's just not cricket on a track day. I was happy to follow him around and pick up some tips, I loved how smooth he was.

Cadwell is not a track I would want to take a Maser around. It's very narrow and technical and unforgiving of mistakes - even small one's Far better at a wide open track such as Silverstone or Donny.

Here's the only other vid I have on Youtube, it's much shorter but it's got a nice soundtrack and names the corners. Enjoy.

Firstly welcome to the forum, love the GTS, you'll find that these guys all have their hearts in the right place with good advice, and not just with Maseratis.
Secondly, that Ducati have some serious torque coming out of the hairpin but then I'm used to 600cc screamers. I've not been to Cadwell for about 8/9 years so I've probably seen that bike winning the 2002 BSB championship with Steve Hislop if I remember... and WSB in 99 would have been Bayliss???(check on wikipedia says Fogarty, blimey should have got that one right)
The only track days I've done is Assen on the old circuit, Eastern Creek and Phillip Island, oh and Mad Sunday in the IOM does that count? (And the Nurburgring in my Coupe). But if I'm still in this country I'll have to book myself on one again. Maybe in this country, that'll be a first for me. (LLandow excluded as it's on four wheels)

Oulton Park is well worth a thrash; it's a fabulous circuit.
