Good work, can you post some photos of how it is all supported?

Want to see if it is feasible for me. I have a decent garage and tools but no proper ramps (only these) I could hire an engine crane to support the engine.

How does the subframe look? Mine is/was rusting from the inside so hard to really tell maybe?image.jpg

Too much force is only too much when you realise the screws were left hand thread.....

And today's comedian award goes to.................Yep none other than Chris. I really like the picture of this GE Mini-gun, does it come with mounts for the Maserati I could use one of these.

Also great job Arnie, knew you'd get it out.

You'd have to ask Blaine :)

A very old, and very good friend used to have this as his desktop wallpaper. This was disturbing as he was head developer of one of the products my team had to Operate.

We were buddies long before that though. Met at University. Lived together. Swapped girlfriends. He's now married to my ex. Very happily too. Myself and Mrs Catman are god parents to their sons. Took some time, mind ;)

Love that story could only be from the late 70's early 80's.

Late 80s. Best bit is it's all true. We met at Kung Fu, first year. The We've spent the last 20+ New Year's together (barring one for sickness). Had good times, and some pretty **** ones, and gone from basically kids to 'responsible adults' Well they are. Their kids think *we* are. That still worries me.

People like that are sort of what life is about.

The full blown 2 post lift I am using was only £1400. Given the amount of time you can lend it to your makes I'd say there is a great potential ROI there.

GP79, your subframe is far worse than mine. Mine has only surface rust.

That said, I took the front bumper off later today (to get it painted) only to firn the steel piece in the front bumper has massively disintegrated - it part of the bumper so no replacement available - fortunately not much more than a piece of 25x25x2mm angle with some brackets. Also found the plastic brackets on the headlamps were broken, so need to find a skilled plastic welder to reconstruct properly. Seems Loz's efforts when he fixed my car in 2009 were not so durable. The front bumper bar and the very fornt of the main chassis rails are also suffering surface rust but none of it too serious that some proper treatment and repainting with a decent rust preventing paint won't see them outlast the rest of the car!

Lol....I'm like a dog with a bone now. I basically googled what they look like, "hydraulic car ramps" and they came up. Very nice indeed. Sorry for hijacking the thread.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEAD-ON-S-FOR-ADJUSTABLE-CAR-RAMPS-OR-HYDRAULIC-CAR-RAMPS-CJAUTOS-CRO1B-/330782802180?clk_rvr_id=1103316211698&rmvSB=true

That link is just for the extra lead on bit to the hydraulic ramps.

The ramps are here :

Is that Loz's 4209 GS version? If so the GS bits came off a flood damaged car which may go some way to explaining the rust.

Loz had two if I remember, both cat cars, both Grigio Touring, one a crashed 'classico' 52 plate he converted to GS look, and one a genuine 55 plate GS that suffered from hydrolock engine?
Thought the AP brakes were fitted to the earlier car but could be wrong.
I'm sure Arnie can classify which one he bought!

Mine is the 55 plate which was accident damaged. Loz acquired and repaired it. Its a proper GS, and this was the car with the AP brake conversion. It has relatively minor damage but was marked with CAT D as he accident was non-fault of the owner, so he got a total settlement and bought another car. I think we'd all do the same.

GP79 - if you want to come and see mine while its on the ramp and in pieces PM me. That will help you gauge the size of the job. Car is near East Grinstead.

Bought mine here:

http://www.cjautos.org.uk/

They advertise in the classic mags, i do need a 'lead on' as the GS is too low even with these ramps

Yeah I knew I hadn't seen these in the U.S......it's because they don't sell them, at least not that I can find. Everyone I looked up is there in the UK. This is getting ridiculous first Trump and now this. I'm about to move....lol. I should tell my wife to only apply for jobs overseas.
