Living with GT on a daily basis - couple of questions for a newbie!

My GranTurismo is actually better over speed bumps than my wife's Brera, so you needn't worry.

    F1 2015

F1 is hot in our country now, since we entered a kid who's not yet old enough to have a drivers licence. But judging from qualifying we're in for yet another year of watching which one of the two taxi drivers is fastest. Not sure that's worth losing sleep over tomorrow morning.

    Post your MPG

When you use a Maserati as daily driver you tend to notice even boring stuff like mpg. Over the last 95,000 km my 4200 has been averaging around 18-19 mpg, with a lot of motorway driving (cruising at anywhere between 80-100 mph). The GTS, which I've only run for about 3,000 km before winter...

    Warning!

My 2006 coupe is still being serviced by a main dealer. Next service is up in 3,000 km, which at the current rate should be in about 5-6 weeks time. I'll have them check the arms then and if something is found it'll go straight to Maserati North Europe (we don't have a national Maserati...

    F1? Have you been?

I went to Monza once and was treated to 3 days of rain and clouds, although it always looks sunny and blue on TV. To make matters worse some young German upstart in a Toro Rosso humiliated the Ferraris on their home turf to take his first ever GP win. And then my wallet was nicked while I was in...

    GS dash vs 4200

The 90s dash was main reason that I never seriously considered a GS. After the satnav of my 4200 packed in (and I was quoted € 3.5k for a replacement), I found someone who hooked a Garmin to the existing screen. Now I have the best of both worlds: built-in satnav that is actually up to date -...

    Another lovely pic...

The one to have is the 1750 TBi. All the power and torque you need, but without the weight (or sound) of a diesel. The Mrs. has had one for the last 4 years, and it is very good (although she still won't part with her GT 2.0 JTS either).

How heavy is your right foot?

In nearly four years of commuting at roughly 100 mph (outside rush hours) in the 4200 CC my average consumption has been around 19 mpg. I've now been driving the GTS for 10 days at similar speeds and still get 19 mpg (despite the additional 200 kg and 50 hp).

SM Brake discs group buy - it's on!

And then again, at less than 25 % of the price Maserati charge, even if it takes the manufacturer two attempts to get it right, it's still a bargain.

How many miles on your 3200/4200/GranSport/Spyder?

I bought my 2006 4200 CC in Jan 2011, when she had run only 11,500 km (approx. 7,000 miles). After nearly 4 years as daily she is at 102,000 km or nearly 64,000 miles.

    Maserati Centenary Trip

Much the same thing happened with Alfa Romeo's Centenario in 2014. That was outsourced to MAC, the people who also brought us the Mille Miglia preceded by 100 new Ferraris driven by wealthy Russians. For Alfa Romeo they managed to come up with the most uneventful event ever - although to their...

Who parks their car in a garage v on the driveway ?

My 4200 CC spent nearly 4 years on my driveway (except when we were away on holidays, then I would park her in the garage). I've never felt the need for battery chargers, but then she was my daily driver. Yesterday I took delivery of my Granturismo S, which means that the 4200 CC will now be...

Just Bought a Mito for Ira...(Me!)

As an Alfista I congratulate you on your choice, although I'm not a huge fan of the Mito myself. Actually, the fact that Alfa only offered the Mito and Giulietta forced me to switch to used Maseratis four years ago, and now I own a 4200 CC and a Granturismo S, which means a lot of lost revenue...

    New member from Holland

After putting my name on the list for the group buy of the brake discs, I should probably briefly introduce myself on this forum - although it would have been even better if I'd done things the other way around. After over 20 years of happily driving all kinds of Alfa Romeos, I was forced to...

SM Brake discs group buy - it's on!

I'm new to this forum (but I signed up following your stories about the Centennial trip, not because of this joint ourchase). I'd like to order a full set for my 4200 CC, and hope that the shipment can be combined with that of the other Dutch Maseratisti.
