Maybe F1 should have a mandatory safety car with 10 laps to go... Fresh boots and hard racing!

And effectively Ricciardo outpaced Vettel in the Australian GP as well; shame about the FFM issue; feels a bit harsh on Ricciardo when he (personally) did nothing wrong.

Oh noooooooo, didn't realise you're an Aussie, Blondie LOL.

P.S. Did you get my PM?

So the first 40 (or whatever) laps is just qualifying for the final dash...and they should make the start a rolling grid like in NASCAR so the leader can't just fly away when they choose...nice pile-up at the first corner and lots of fun for the viewer...ha!

Hi Chris,

Surely this would have the opposite effect? For a rolling start the pole sitter is effectively the pace car and controls the pace of the pack behind. A good driver on pole will effectively have an advantage as he choses when to pick up the pace which often gives an advantage into the first corner.

Yeah, but that just makes it as boring as it is now, with a rolling start, it's more of a battle, less of a cat & mouse game...much more fun. For the rolling start, the leader has to keep the pack together until they hit the line, then all heck breaks loose...if you're going to have it artificial, might as well make it gladiatorial and entertaining.
