YOu just had to turn over last Sunday and watch the BTCC to see great racing.........I know they are different type of Motorsport but that is exciting to watch....Or get yourself to a DTM race....Now they are cars that sound amazing.... I will always and have always watch F1 as I love it but understand why many will not and are bored with the sport.....but to be honest this has been happening for years and years and years. New rules come in to make it more exciting and then they change as it didn't work.....Still get excited before every race though....

Was out on a gruelling 5hr off road cycle (ok, an hour I. The pub in the middle) and have just watched the race on Sky+, best one I have seen for a while, the cars sounded ok too....they must have turned the background noise up.

Not good for Maclaren though, double retirement.

Vettel, actually liked him when he was a newb, but after how he behaved towards his teammate, I have no respect for him, cheeting t0sser

...seems a German trait............so little sportsmanlike attitudes left in GP racing

Yup, great race for a change. Amazing what a safety car can do to spice things up.

Lewis won the psychological battle this time round. It's the tiny margin that separates the champion from the silver medal man. I used to think he was an ar** but I've warmed to him over the last couple of years. He's pretty cool I think.

My favourite team has always been Williams so i'm pleased to see them improve and those Martin colours are awesome! They should make Felipe and Valtteri drive Integrale team cars!!

Close racing throughout the field. Mercedes are the class act but even they were racing wheel to wheel. 3rd could have come from any of 6 or more other drivers - 3rd to 12th separated by 20 secs

Good Race overall, hope we get more of the same in races to come.

Yes, great to see Williams up there....and agree on the Martini colours and brilliant that Massa is doing well as I would imagine he went to Williams thinking his time was over..........Ferrari have some catching up to do.....Nicko may have done the 'play fighting at the end with Lewis but you could see in his face he wanted to slap him........Lewis drove a brilliant race and clean as well with some close racing...Nico complained about one move Lewis did on him but I couldn't see an issue to be honest.....I predict that relationship ending up on the edge by the end of this year...

Best moment....Brian Johnson from AC/DC on the podium said to Nicos in his best northern accident...'Nico me old son'......when he started to interview him...

Agreed. Seeing the two Merc boys going at it hammer and tongs was great.

Isn't it interesting how the restart order after the Safety Car was pure Noah's Ark stuff: they were all lined up two by two.

Most interesting meet this year so far.

But still the sound is awful, my six-year-old watching it with me summed it up best "they sound like school kids farting".

I started to watch it to see what all the 'Hoo-ha' was about. I gave up after about 3 minutes as the soundtrack was, how can I put it diplomatically, cr4p. Another season not watching it will not have a negative impact on my quality of life.

Regarding the sound track, I'm starting to like it, deep growl noise! Bit different for sure, and I do prefer the na V8's of course, but it doesn't put me off watching and listening.

Bugger the noise. The racing was EPIC. I remember the turbos of the 80's - not a great noise but 1500cc generating 1500bhp ...., for about 6 laps before exploding!

Agree, I really don't notice the noise as its the racing for me also and throughout the whole race I was on the edge of my seat.

Typical turbo racing, the engines develop loads of torque but it's not linear so catches even the greats out. That an the extra torque of the KERs give the drivers more toys to play with. Lewis was brilliant in saving his KERs to counteract Nico DRS which made it such a close fought battle.

I too am getting used to the noise, it's not a screaming V8 but it does have something going for it.

Bottom line if you don't have a Merc engine you're going to struggle

Great racing this time. As for the noise, it's more the seamless shifts that make it boring for me, not the volume...after all, it's a TV I can turn up if needed. Wish there was more driver involvement in the gears, it's good to hear a missed gear occasionally, and would be much more of a drivers sport, but I guess that's been left behind a long time ago.
