Most of it's pretty good, generally. A wire brush and some decent rust-fixing underbody gloop will sort it out. The worst part are those bloody awful plates which bolt on just aft of the front wheels. Happily they're a cheap replacement from Eurospares.

As for the F-type, I do keep getting drawn to them but they lack the "special" feel of being in any kind of Maser. It's terrible to say, but it would feel like a downgrade.

I just had an f type as a courtesy car for the Cali until I told them where to stick it after 2 days - they then gave me a Cali T. The f type IMO was a massive downgrade from the GTs (albeit a different type of car), didn't feel special at all. It was a V6 so maybe the V8 would have been more fun. The Cali T wasn't worth a premium over the '30. I think for the price point the GTs's and well priced strads are on the money. Even if the brand are having some serious issues at the top. It seems like Alfa's top brass are on fire and Maserati's are in a depressive stupor.

Remember that you did actually steal your 30, Iain! Even if you hadn't the T is still a £30-40k premium so would have to be seriously impressive over the NA.

I was somewhat disappointed to see they have realised a facelift 2 days after buying mine. However, having seen the facelift, that has somewhat changed!!

They really are trying to drag it out without bring a new thing to the table...

Agree Adam- I wanted to like the T more - but I am pleased to have mine back. The turbo noise sounded a bit strange to me. Still didn't put as much of a smile on my face as in the GTs in enclosed areas- especially the downshifts. But the speed is scary. I do drive like a grandad most of the time as I don't trust myself to handle it if I really put my foot down.
I notice the one at SF has gone... I thought you had bought it at first

I'll try and get some photos up tomorrow if they have it at GW.

It will be at FoS, they tweeted the below yesterday -

That was a beautiful car. Almost perfect spec (better would be TDF blue and the biscuity coloured interior). But I struggled with the £80k gap between mine and the Simon Furlonger one!

Nice, I'm there as a guest of Maserati tomorrow so no doubt will get a chance to have a look.

If it's the Moving Motor show get there early doors, take your driving license and sign on at the desks to test drive some motors up the test hill. If you get something remotely spicy (M5, M6 etc) then it is great fun hammering it up there and around the chicanes to slow you down. I will bet most of my money that Maserati will not have a stand there though only a poxy tent in the field with some very dull motors in.

So glad I kept my Stradale when I bought the 458. Can't see me selling it any time soon.

With no MC Shift box available now surely prices for GTS MCS and Strad's will firm up?

I won't be changing my 2013 GT Sport any time soon then. I know looks are a subjective/ personal taste thing, but I honestly believe they've lost the magic of the original, and mine. Of course one has to see it in the flesh, but at the moment I'm content that I've got the better looking car.

The facelift should be available to see & test in Q4 this year at UK dealerships according to my MD.

Let's all wait to see it in the flesh before being too critical, after all we all want the brand to survive & flourish and whilst being disappointed with yesterday's announcement, it's still one of the best looking cars around

Ron does some interesting videos, and is a fellow Ghibli S owner so that can't be bad. I saw this one the other morning maybe this is the reason for the conservative refresh. Instead of being bold and creating something desirable Maserati are going down the customer feedback route? If that's the case then they will be doomed.

Posted it because I don't agree with a word he says. It's a strange view but each to their own.

Its a US view, which is very different from the one we have here. As Reid Bigland is from over the pond perhaps that's the overriding view.

Really need a European with vision in charge of the brand.
