Hi Parisien,
Thanks for the tip, I have heard of these but never used them.

Cheers

FD high performance pads are better than OEM, but didn't solve the braking feeling for me. EBC red are very good, ave tried them but not in the Mas.

Can attest to the pagid being both excellent and ruibously expensive. They are OEM on 3200 AC.

Hear mixed reports on EBC redstuff.
Green gripper are okay - still managed to hurt my brakes on trackday. Maybe it was the red mist though ;)

OK food for thought. I think the PAGID fitted were the yello, can anyone confirm that? Shopping around they seem like around £200 per axle, so £400 per car if the are brilliant and last is maybe worth the cost.
We all get red mist from time to time, but if the car stops that's all we need, we don't need brake fade, or anything else, makes the lower cheeks pucker too much for me.

They are very good pads those 2500's I would go for them.

EBC RED, not for me. They don't work unless the brakes are stinking hot, track only I feel. The EBC GREENS were better for road use, but I would go for standard Ferrodos if I were doing it again, £35 an axle and as good as the OEM pads (which are Bremo/Ferrodo anyway)

All sound advice, so Ferodo is one to look at with a reasonable friction level. I assume that price is per axle? Quite a chunk of change more than the EBC, but still cheaper than the Pagid. Has anyone tried the other Ferodo version DS Performance, any ideas what they are like?

This is my extract from the post in another thread:

Bedford Batterys,

Ferodo Pads FDB 451 and 998

998 in stock at £33.50 +vat.
451 Need ordering £24.50 + vat.

Because they are Ferodo, the owner of Brembo, I would be happy to try them as I have had it indicated to me that they are the OEM pad.

I tried cheap brand pads, and they fade terribly, Apecs I think were the ones I tried, took them straight back out again.

Anyone looking for OEM replacement pads should try these, they are very good.

Remember the Green Grippers too from Belfast Brakes, they are made by Ferrodo too and can be had for the same money as above.

The OE on the AC were Pagid Pads, which are a fortune, but a friend of mine who uses them, says on road use they would last a long time, which may be cost effective long term. Mind you they are about 7 times more expensive than the Ferodo mentioned above, they do work exceptionally well, but will they last 7 times longer???

Mine were still fitted on the rear when i bought in 2006 @32k miles. Soon changed them though. no plans to fit them again, when normal pads are quick, easy and cheap to change.

Just had the newsletter from Opie Oils

They have started stocking the Ferodo Pads

FBD451 £ 23.69 plus vat

FBD998 £ 37.78 plus vat

Hope this may be of interest.

N.B. you have to look under 3200Gt to find them
