once he received the new V5 back, transferred ownership to me. This was sent off to the DVLA last Thursday morning. (however, he sent the new keepers bit with it, the V5C/2).
So I haven't got the Document Reference Number you need to tax it and do a number plate transfer.
I chased it on Monday and they said "can't see anything being done on it yet" and then again this afternoon, where I was advised that it could take 4 weeks!!! FFS!
As soon as I get the new V5 I can tax it, then change the number plate (which you can do online in seconds!).

Shame as you can transfer ownership online now... I bought a new car on Thursday evening, v5 came through my letter box on the Saturday morning !
