On a separate note , I was really happy with Lancaster M , they were really helpful. Even despite me saying I need the answers now as I’m stood in front of it. Responded very well and more than happy to.

Don't trust everything they say at Lancaster. Sometimes they simply get it wrong. They thought my MC Shift had the wrong exhaust on it. Reckoned it was supposed to have the twin double tailpipes instead of the two ovals*. No, I explained, that's the auto. I don't think so, they said.

*I think all later cars had the ovals, just to create more identikit challenges.

Good morning guys.
Will do ofenomeno. Despite anything else I forgot to add.. my god they sound beautiful!!
Ok first and last silly question of the day (I almost promise) if it comes up with the red MC shift logo, does it confirm it is an MC Shift and is the red logo meant to stay on all the time whilst in sport mode ?

In auto mode, was it shite with huge, laggy gearchanges? If so it's an MC Shift. :)

Lol yeah that’s the one, I’d red up past comments on lifting of before shift and it seamed better but yeah very laggy.
My comment on the shift being lazy only referred to the gear shift, not the shift model btw (I should have chosen my words better there although I was all giddy like a little school boy from recently stepping out of it and the wife actually liking it)

MC is blistering in MC mode, better yet if you get the 599 GTO software on the box. It's perfectly good in manual model. It's bollox in auto. Never use auto - wears the clutch faster.

So, sounds like an MC then. :)

Is that expensive for an MC..? Check with Dicky Grace and Nareman at Nuvola London for alternative cars as well.

In all fairness the car felt strangled the whole ride, I really look forward to opening one up and it’s pehaps given me a foggy appeal to the car due to lack of drives in these (this being the first Mas ) (not the first serious car tho) I relish the day I say I’m now a proud owner.... is this the one ...

Yes it feels strangled as the auto function is an afterthought. Think of it like the SMG boxes on the M3 and M5 cars. They are a manual where the robot does the clutching for you and you just pull the paddle to select the gear, the auto part of it is an afterthough and it feels like a dog on a leash, the gear changes are slower too as it tries to mimic the behaviour of a slush box.

Its definitely an MC Shift as no auto gearstick so well priced for a facelift car even with those miles on it. Appears even dealers get confused!

I've visited QCC in the past for a look around as I pass their Rayleigh/Wickford site regularly. Think they purchase px's from main dealers and they seem decent enough. Forgive me if I'm wrong but I think Mr Grace bought a silver GS from them in the past.

Yes I know Bradley & Ross Quirk, nice blokes the pair of them. The car is cheap, I’d think this is to take into account it’s nearly on 40k miles. This is clutch replacement territory.

Maybe not now but hopefully in the near future. I’ve made my offer and left it with them. No all I need to do is try and not stare at my phone for the next few days !

Great way to do business. The offer is on the table and it's in their hands. Never be afraid to walk away from a deal there will be another better car around the corner.

Perhaps they will view my offer differently when they work out the cost to replace the front discs/pads and clutch. he said they would use genuine parts and I can only hazard a guess on genuine discs @ £1000+ ea. that alone without factoring in the clutch replacement outweighs my generous offer (obviously I wouldn't use genuine discs when the time comes)

I’d be staggered if you managed to buy the car at £42950 with new brakes and a new clutch. There’s £4-5k of spend. Let alone at below this figure, as I doubt you’ve offered over asking price.
Regards after market discs and pads, from personal experience I would only ever use OEM, and there’s very little saving using Torex or FD ones anyway.
