Have I not been saying that all along?! Drive it, then make an informed comment instead of relying on the words of Needell and Clarkson. Remember, they slated the 4200 and we all know how wrong they were about that.

I've been following this thread from the start, choosing not to put my dealer input in to the banter, and have to completely agree and confirm with Ian.

What i will say is it is not in the market to challenge the traditional German cars, which do a great job, it is a true alternative.
It will remain exclusive, will never be a volume vehicle and Maserati do not want it to.
As for Needell and Clarkson.............I take it we will all be driving it as they did.................and we all take what they say as gospel!

Drive it your self and then make your own informed decision. And remember we are all individuals........if you don't like it then don't buy it!

I've just watched the review, and it is typical Needell. The bit where he said, "it sounds like a V8 and I want it to perform like one" just about sums it up. Also, in dynamic terms, he should have compared it to the 530D which is also a single turbo, 3litre and not the 535D which is twin turbo. I'm also a bit disappointed as I always thought he could drive; in a diesel, sticking it into a bend, booting it and hitting the limiter is always going cause the power to drop off a lot more than in a petrol and that's why it has 8 gears. Short shifting into the meat of the torque delivery will allow pretty brisk progress. It's a different driving style but it didn't look like, to me, that he gets it. Disappointing.

Everyone to his own, he maybe thought it sounded like a V8 so he thought he was in a V8, hence dissapointment..!!

As Ian says, and more to the point clarifies, how to actually drive a high powered single turbo V6.....you have to adapt and think what you're doing.........

The carparazzi feature was a bit naff. It must have been a very slow day if he only spotted £2m worth of cars. Like TG, some of it's ok but the rest is pretty forgettable.

Yup, £2M would have to be a very slow day in N London, especially if you're there for the commute in and commute out of the city!

I see £2 million..........as I look out my front window.....;)

Frank, the £2m relates to the value of cars not the two thirds of Ireland that you can see. Had you lived in Wales it would have been £2m for all of it! :)
