The more I think about it guys the QP GT S just feels like a much more special car than the ghibli S.
The only other 4 door that I think comes anywhere close to it regarding a certain blend of sportiness, character and style is the Aston Martin Rapide.
Thoughts ?

Look lovely... I'd bet a lot more expensive to look after tho ... and if you only need 4 seats then a Granturismo a better bet...

and .. Maserati's make a lot better noise IMO... wasn't originally convinced by the V6 in the Ghibli but my chums standard V6 sounds properly fruity with the sport button pressed...

Yes, but my point is when trying to help inform the OPs choice between a GTS and a Ghibli S, it is ridiculous and completely unhelpful to be quoting trade figures for a Ghibli D. Of course a base Ghibli D that sold at £50k is going to trade at £40k after 6 months. You get there by just taking the VAT off.
The point I tried to make (ok I accept, badly) is that Ghibli prices in general are sliding fast especially the diesel whereas QP gts prices could well have started to harden.
HR Owen have a black/black/black one for 45k (will take 40+ish) and it's probably not going to see 30k for quite while. Cracking car.

Agreed ghibli prices are heading downhill rapidly.
I think pound for pound the QP GT S is definitely a more special car and better value for money currently.

Agree Bourekoue...The Aston is a special car and stunning inside....must say there are certain angles it does work for me but a great car and great value.....but did you see the Top Gear with the QP, Aston and Porsche in it....They picked the QP....It sounded stunning....

Yep, which is what a Maserati is all about.....The other two may be quicker but....they are not a Maserati. I am really looking forward to seeing what you buy...Are you going to see the Nuvola one....

Yes mate next week.
I know what you mean about the 2 being quicker, more powerful, etc, etc but the maserati is the one that connects with your soul and just makes you feel like a kid again !

Hi,
I've a QP 4.2 DS 2005 (had now since 2008). Recently had a loan Ghibli petrol for the day while my car was in for a service.

While the Ghibli would make a nice everyday car with nice sat nav and tricks(rear view camera etc), the engine note seemed to just be a booming sound from the rear exhaust. Didn't really like the auto as a drivers car (but obviously better for general use). The Ghibli also seemed pretty anonymous compared to my QP V which for everyday use is a good thing.

Getting back in my QP didn't miss the Ghibli one bit and not really thought if one since.

I thought it was only the diesel that had the loud speaker? It was definitely the petrol Ghibli but not the S.

THought that as well..The petrol didn't need the loud speaker but the diesel did...
