Finally fitted my set from Maverick in preparation for next weekend's concours.

New pedals.jpg
Sorry you'll have to look sideways on this photo.

The process did involve re-aligning the holes in the brake pedal and top one of the accelerator, as the holes were spaced for 4200 which is slightly different than GS.
Nevertheless great result.
I re-used 2 allen bolts from the accelerator to mount the footrest. You'll find there are 6 plugs locating the rubber, just lever them out.
I drilled out the lower left and created a new hole in the middle so the allen bolts could screw in firmly. I think it was a 5/16" drill bit.
I also re-painted the black surface before attaching the pedals as you never know how fussy these concours judges will be.

To complement the pedals from Maverick, just ordered the (optional) passenger aluminium foot rest from my Maserati main dealer. You would think it to be an arm and a leg (like the pedals), but less than £40 with Vat! It's coming from Italy, delivery for collection end of next week, the factory have 7, now 6, don't all rush at once for I guess when they are gone, they are gone!
Don't order the backing plate and screws, together more than the footrest, only a M5 caphead screw into a tapped plate beneath the carpet!

It's a big plate that attaches to the removable clip in passenger floor mat. Not where the rubber pad is, at the top, the bit that folds up against the bulkhead. It was an option for Gransports to match the aluminium pedals on the drivers side.
You just drill 4 holes through the mat, and bolt the plate to a tapped backing plate on the underside of the mat. The backing plates are more cost than the plate, so I will most likely just tap a piece of plate myself instead of buying the official backing plates, which you can't see anyway!

Here is a better picture of the passenger footrest cast aluminium plate.

I have this in my GS, which has almost every option fitted. As an optional extra on a new car it cost something ridiculous like £400! My OEM passenger mat has a cut out to allow this footrest to be fitted. From memory it screws to the fuse cover in the passenger footwell. Mike - this may be what the tapped plate you refer to is.

Yes in the 3200 and 4200 under the passenger carpet is a metal cover which is the fuse box cover. On the 3200 it is usually left off (not screwed down) because you need frequent access :D

Looking at the parts, and carpet options in more detail, you are right.
I'll see what it looks like when it arrives.
Can't see why it can't rest on top of the mat with a tapped plate beneath, so when you remove the mat, the plate comes with it.
I guess in your correct installation, it's set into the mat, with the mat having a hole in it!
If my resting onto the top of the mat does not look right, I can always fabricate or buy the correct mounting brackets and cut/trim the mat to suit.
Thanks.

Edit: Looking at this picture I have found, and how the mat looks to sit below it, I think it resting on top should be fine.
