I speak to them regularly, great folk to deal with."I assume Ireland is attractive to you as you're in NI" ......yep Richard im in NI near Belfast.... have asked the DP in the dealer here to keep a look out for trade ins as i know him from working in renault and citroen depts of Charles Hurst years ago.... not too many over here but have seen 3 new Ghiblis, a Grand Cabrio and a G Tourismo recently...
How does that work Matt? If it's a ex UK car in Ireland it can still be hpi'd and it's linked to UK hpi's. Cars that are in Ireland and you know the original plate, can just do a check to see if was a cat car before it left. I've heard of people sending them from Ireland to mainland Europe to lose the cat but not aware of how it could be done when residing in Ireland.
I don't know the ins and outs of it but I did hear about it going on a few years back.
I think if the car goes out of the UK (Ireland) then back in again, it got a new plate. Maybe the loophole has been shut down now and they pick it back up again on the chassis number???
I understand from Mike at the Maserati shed that the 3200 engine if properly looked after is a strong and long-lived engine and that 100k is only "middle age" whereas the 4200 engine wears out faster. So if it's all straight and well looked after £10 isnt so bad. No such thing as a cheap Maserati
Having stripped a 4200 engine with oil/water pump failure at 90,000 miles far from being worn out and now sweet as a but.
