I have often thought that when putting on the handbrake it feels like it is being pulled sideways , so your explanation makes sense . It obviously feels a lot better from the passenger seat ! :conf4:

Since discovering this nugget I have taken to leaning over to pull it on so it gets pulled up at least!

Replacement lever arrived; need to find time to fit it now!

Actually arrived on Saturday (ordered Wednesday) so really good service from Germany.

My handbrake was pretty rubbish - even when it held it would roll back a bit before gripping, which was rather unnerving. But I assumed it was 'normal for Maserati' Emblem checked it out and found some part on one one side was broken (can't remember what), they fixed it and hey presto - it feels just like a normal handbrake on a normal car. Obviously I still never leave on when parked, but it makes hill starts and stopping a junctions easier and just... normal. Great.
