My new car

Following on from here - http://www.sportsmaserati.com/showthread.php/14136-Prospective-new-Maserati-owner

I have now found the car I was after, in my favourite colour combination. I'd have taken some pictures of it in my ownership but it's got a covering of crud on it now that I don't want to show off so here's some pictures from the traders website.

Is that really mine?

I have to admit that after driving it into work today I had a bit of a wobble. I was thinking "Have I done the right thing?" Are my co-workers going to think I'm a div, wasted money? Is it too strange for me? I'm so used to Audis and that sterile Germanic style that I find so comfortable.

After a few hours of that and a couple of e-mails to some very insightful people I've come to my senses and looking out of my front window and seeing it on the drive, well, My legs are like snapped candles, what a sight!!
The drive home was better than the drive in too. I avoided the centre of Buckingham and used a nice long bypass, windows down and let it howl! It has a pair of Larini sports boxes fitted so does it ever howl!!

There are a couple of things I want to get done.
- One of the rear speakers crackles like **** but I've seen an upgrade thread so I'll be following that an getting the same or similar.
- I suspect it may have a Lambda probe issue, maybe. After a good hour into my journey back I could feel a very light hesitation, like someone was very lightly pulling on the rear bumper. That's a Lambda issue to me anyway.
- Get it booked in for another service (maybe) and check over at Emblem (came highly recommended) for more peace of mind.

More to come as I get to things, I'll update this as I get to them.

Thanks to all those that have helped and advised and given up their own time to tell me the right and wrongs, particularly Richard Grace, Roger and Zagatoes30 :excellent:

Looks stunning ! I spotted that on piston heads and it didn't last long . Was a little out of my price bracket. Did you get a pre purchase inspection done before the sale ?

It had been serviced and had a health check just 900 miles ago where the clutch wear was noted as 31%. With that and my car purchase experience I was happy to move forward with it. What could have happened in 900 miles, right? :blushed:

Congratulations Mike, she looks stunning and welcome to the best kept automotive secret of all time!

I bet the last thing you do tonight before going to bed is to pull back the curtains to look out the window to check she's still there and again in the morning when you get out of bed because you can't quite believe she's now yours.....

Enjoy and welcome to the best forum community in the WORLD ;0)

That looks utterly stunning, 4200's are so much better looking than the GS. Just needs boomerangs to be perfect :)

I've written a snippet for Evo magazine today to go into the 3200 buyers guide and I referenced all those things grinzz and Allan :)

Well done, glad I could help. Just waiting for my ride now, best not pop over this weekend though as there might be a few thousand foreigners in the village ;)
