Hi all

I'm a newbie too and wondering if anyone knows what VIN numbers indicate the updates in the 3200s.

i.e. from the 'SportsMaserati' Maserati 3200 Buying Guide...........

'The 2001 model year car saw a number of detailed changes aiming at making it easier to drive. This 3200 GT boasted a massively improved steering system, with a re-geared rack to combat the nervousness of the earlier cars with just the right amount of heft and feel. The engine management system was also radically overhauled.'

II'm just about to purchase a 3200 after a long wait and 'd like to buy one of these later models if possible.

Or is there another way of distinguishing these later models?

Thanks and looking forward to any information you may have.

Best regards

Paul

Welcome Paul. Not far from you in Newbury so if you need any advice on 3200's then let me know (have one for sale and know of another too for sale). The later cars generally have a different ECU and OBD port rather than the 3 pin Lancia/Fiat connector under the dash.

Ping me if you want to talk.

Welcome to the fold Paul. An easy way to tell is the small silver topped 'cans' that sit on the front of the inlet manifold by the throttle body. They were only fitted on late cars, they're an uprated cooling system. image.jpgimage.jpg

The top picture is a later car, the bottom one an earlier car.
