Rwc13 - that is a **** of a list of past Maserati's... Out of all of them which was / is your favourite?[/QUOTE]

I'd find it hard to pick, as they all are special in a particular way. For example, the Ghibli GT is a recently fulfilled teenage desire to own a biturbo era car and is such a lovely thing to cruise around in.

But I keep coming back to the Gransport and I've succumbed to another coupe this week. Personally I think they are the best modern era GT car that Maserati has produced in terms of size/performance/feeling hand made etc. But that's just for me.

But the one that has got deepest into my heart as a serial car changer, and indeed the one I have owned the longest of all of them is my Gransport Spyder. 18 months in and I still love it, think it's a thing of incredible beauty, and a joy too drive on any dry day with the roof down.

But that's just my take on the ones I have owned and therefore really experienced. All Maseratis are special in their own way and there are many I have yet to own and come to fully appreciate.

Enjoy owning yours. It's a very good place to be........a Maserati owner. Sounds good too doesn't it :)

I have to be honest - I think I'm going to absolutely love owning this car... she even looks good in the rain!

Massive thanks to all of you for the advice. All of the input was helpful, but Richard Grace deserves a special mention as he really helped me work through the myriad of options in terms of working out what spec I wanted, he pointed out some great options, and once I'd decided this was the one I wanted he managed to source it for me. All within 4 days! The man is a miracle worker, and as a result I now have this stunner sat in my garage!.

I know I've been blooming lucky in terms of timing, but for any other potential Maserati owners who read this thread in the future, make sure you call Richard for some advice. You definitely won't regret it.

Stunning and the Best bit of having a Maserati is it makes us a true individual and we all cherish and appreciate our own choice.
Most of us have stayed true to the Marque with real passion even though the company treat us differently.
Only a few have been bitten and lost the love and gone elsewhere.
I have been Lucky and dabbled with Ferrari's and it was fun but I'm staying with my Trident for sure :)

I saw this when advertised and anguished as it was simply beyond my budget at the moment.. Med Blu is a stunning colour in rain or shine, it takes on so many hues.. When I used to clean mine on the drive people used to stop and comment on the colour.
Enjoy Jon, where are you based?

Thanks Dave, I'm in Surrey, in a village called Ashtead between Epsom and Leatherhead... will be cleaning the car tomorrow and will see if I get a similar reaction. Luckily she is covered in the paintshield protection film, so there ought to be limited effort required to get her looking all sparkly and spotless...

Hi Jon,

Firstly congratulations on the new purchase. Stunning car and one that stood out to me whilst browsing the 'Trader recently.

It's also a small world, I think we were at Maranellos last Saturday at the same time, both looking at GTs. I had my kids with me and was sizing them up in the back of the GT with the red linterior they have.

All the best and enjoy!

Hi Serkie - you're right, we were both at Maranello at the same time! What a small world - whereabouts is home for you?

Both of my kid's reaction to the car so far has been a combination of "Cool" "it's very blue..." "Too loud" (I was demonstrating the exhaust sound...)

Thanks for the comments on my car, and I look forward to hearing what you end up going for.

All the best

Jon

Hi Jon,

I'm over near Wokingham, Berkshire.

Glad the kids approve, they will love being in the back of it for sure.

My kids fitted nicely in the back so that was practicality check 101 done. I have also been through similar questions to you with regards to gearbox type. I've gone down the MC Auto route, MC Shift wasn't for me but appreciate why it appeals to many.

Things are currently in progress for me and I 'should' be a Maserati owner next week.

All the best and enjoy polishing that beauty, get yourself over to http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/ if you need any tips on looking after her.
