That I agree with Adam.say the new 5 at **** Lovett and walk straight past it at first as I thought it was a 3 series...So uninspiring design..The 5 used to be a car to aspiure to after your 3 now it's just a boring design that has lost some of it's drives car mantle.....Shame.

Saying that would never have a Merc over it....

Jag XF is the best 5 series type car, and what is wrong with Merc?

Just dont' like them Adam...never have...My wife had a C class and it was the worse car she has ever had...The Octavia VRS was better.....Boring to drive and I just felt I should be 70 to drive it...I then had an S class for the weekend....God, again it bored the pants off me...I now AMG make great fast cars but I can not see past teh Merc badge and I just don't like the design.

The only one I like is the SLK AMG oh and that new supercar thingy....Chris at Parva cars has an SLK AMG for sale at the moment and it looks very nice...Think this is the car he will be bringing to Llandow.

Back in the 80's/90 you were either a Merc fan or BMW and I always fell into the BMW camp..It just sticks with you.

Yeah I only like the AMG motors, but when growing up in the 90's i was in the M car camp. I think BMW need to replicate some of the classics they made and re launch them as special editions such as a new limited edition 2002 Turbo, that would sell out straight away.

I was speaking to Chris about what he will be bringing to Landow and he was undecided and would decide closer to the day but as his Audi engined Elise is not finished he thinks he will take the SLK AMG......He summed the car up really well..He said...

'It's a naughty car that wants to be thrashed'

Get in the car with Mad Chris at the track day at your peril

Yes agree...said it lots of times...well build good looking cars but sterile and boring to drive...Driven enough of them in my time and just don't move me.

only the r can compete but 1 series ahead of a3, 3 ser ahead of the a4, 5 ser ahead of the a6, 7 ser ahead of the a8, x5 ahead of the q7 z4 ahead of the tt, m cars ahead of them

M cars are head and shoulder above Audi RS cars...This is just my opinion of course from my experience of driving many....I can see why some buy them over BMW's but they..and I will say it again..just don't move me. But not everyone wants to be moved..

Test drove an RS4, then bought an M3. Very capable I'm sure but just dull in comparison to the M3.
Was it topgear that said an M3 is a hooligans car, guess I'm a hooligan :)

Share the thoughts on mercs too, the C class I had was possibly one of worst cars I've had.
That said I'm seriously considering a Viano as a MPV, the 3.5 V6 petrol obviously, but then what's the alternative? A previa?
M cars rule supreme so far as I'm concerned, 2 M3's and a Z4M coupe have confirmed this.
