No and no. Some interesting theories though!

Bit of a clue: It's in the continental US, but non-geographic

Some remote Alaskan outpost ?
Trying to think of places with only a handfull of people in residence at anytime.

Good thought, but no. It's a non-geographic number and it doesn't actually connect to anyone directly. But it does allow you to connect to any other number.

There is 800 toll free where you choose a six digit number using the alpha numeric pads to spell it like 1-800-4uhaul

LOL

Let's change it a little bit. The number is 710 to put Navcorr out of my misery. It has one number: 627 4387 so the only valid 710 coded number is 710-6274387

If you dial that number, you'll get a beep. You'll then need to enter a 12 digit PIN to get any further. Then you'll be able to dial any other number.

Guesses as to why this exists and what you'd use it for?

HINT: It's not live sex lines for Trump, nor is it to get toll free calls, although that might well be a by product.
Further HINT: You might want to look at a US phone keypad

I'm going offline for platelet donation in about 2 hours, so if no one gets it I'll reveal the answer and nominate the best answer :)

If this was a deliberate clue, then it deserves a prize!...

<bows>

JonW if you worked it out from that, the question is all yours. Otherwise I nominate Kenny for the Space Station. Associated Trivia is that the Vatican used to have its own international dialling code, and only one phone number....

710-6274387 is part of Homeland Security's Government Emergency Telecomms Service.

I’m nowhere near that clever! My mate google helped me once you’d given the number, which is clearly cheating, so over to Kenny....

Just out of interest i googled phones and the space station. Its possible for amateur radio hams to contact the crew. There is also a IP phone for outgoing calls only which is assigned a outer Houston area code of 281.

Now thats a useless fact you never needed to know.

Im working so busy for awhile. JohnW can you set the next question as i dont have one in mind.
