Talking of snow people. The Office of Government Commerce changed their logo a few years ago. Can you tell why ? :)

To be fair the OGC logo was really this:

OGC.jpg

So it took the wags almost 15 minutes to figure out how to make it hilarious.

Braemar in Scotland holds the record for the lowest temperature ever recorded in the UK. The same temperature was reached on two occasions once in 1895 and again 1982.

What is the lowest outside temperature ever recorded in the UK ?

Nearest guess will be handed the QM baton.

Will leave it running for a bit as the Xmas party and the forum being down hindered play. Nearest answer gets the QM baton.

OK sticking to weather

What is the current world record for the highest temperature on earth and for a bonus what is unusual about this record?

A mate was in Kuwait last summer when 54c was recorded. Not sure if this is the record though.
The locals were trying to convince him to play outdoor 5-a-side footie

It was something like 62 degrees or thereabouts and then got lowered.

What's unusual about it. There was a Scotsman out in it in just a T Shirt and shorts, no suncream?

I'll go for a random answer of 57.5 degrees and the unusual thing about the record is that it was not in the afternoon ...

A good guess and very close but the bonus section is incorrect - I will let it run for a bit longer to see if we get a closer answer. Closest by tomorrow moring wins

It was disqualified because they didnt measure it in a fair way ? By fair i mean by todays standard method and equipment.
