Maverick should know this as he had a Z4 and , I believe, was quite the authority on that forum.

I didn't know it did stand for anything, I certainly didn't see that bit in the BMW museum in Munich. I think the M stands for Motorsport. So the obvious German word beginning with Z is Zeitgeist or Spirit of the times, that's my guess...

Some multiple choice...only one answer per person (I think that's fair)

What motor vehicle law still appears on the books in the state of New Jersey, USA?
A) a motor vehicle being operated after dark must be preceded by someone carrying a lantern
B) a driver must not wear a hat that obstructs the view of a rear seat passenger
C) no female is permitted to ride in the front seat of the car
D) it is illegal to drive faster than 20 MPH on Sunday

I'm going to guess C, as they still have, or did a few years ago, snugs in bars for the women folk to wait, as they weren't allowed in the bar.

What year was the Grand National that never was? And which horse won it?

If this is what I *think* you're referring to, I was working for William Hills. I think it must have been 1992. Can't for the life of me recall the winner. I was never that interested.

Of course, I could be talking total rot.
