If your name is on the list, you have booked a room and need to pay for it (£110 per room per night). If your name isn't on the list, and you want a room, you REALLY need to contact me immediately, as in this morning.

As far as I can work out, people coming who don't want a room are:

Chrisbasset
Macaroni
Jon
Zep
Dem
Safrane
Gingeh721
Sparticus
Enzo MC

I don't know what that means Martyn...

For your earlier post which seems to have disappeared, yes, that's true as far as I'm aware. You have tickets and haven't booked a room.

And.... I'm assuming that everyone who is staying at the hotel on Saturday night will be having the group dinner - we have a private dining room booked :)

Anyone else who isn't staying in the hotel but wants to join for the dinner, please let me know asap.

Hi Drew,

I'm Chris with my RHD Asetto corsa you seen in 100 years...

I live in north of France near Lille, would it be possible to join you at Goodwood without hostel as I can do the road one way and return.

Have you one ticket for me?

Best regards
Chris

Hi Chris,

Of course you can join us at Goodwood - did you not already buy a ticket from the 35 that Barth has? If not, then yes, I have a ticket you can buy.

Do you really want to make that journey without a hotel?? It doesn't seem possible... You will need to be in the Goodwood area on Saturday morning to get into the track, and it's a very full day. At the very least, please book yourself into a hotel somewhere, even if you don't wish to join us.

No I have not taken ticket to Barth as I wasn't sure to have still my car in september.

I can take Eurotunnel the day before and book an hostel.

No problem Chris. You have PM...

I notice there are other people wondering what has happened to the money they've paid in France, and not receiving any response.

I'm intrigued too, as none of it has found its way into my accounts, either in the UK or France.

When this trip was first considered, I booked a hotel and paid a four-figure deposit to secure the rooms for SM and Maseratitude. Last year... Having told Barth on several occasions that without at least some payment I wouldn't proceed with paying in advance the balance for ~£8k of hotel rooms, plus meals and other event costs on behalf of the Maseratitude group, and having his assurance during a face to face meeting in Geneva that he had the money and would transfer it, I explained to the forum in France last week that I would no longer be responsible for arranging for their trip. I also stated that if any of the French contingent wished to join SM directly, and join in by paying me or Matt directly, then we would welcome them with open arms. It should be noted that this is not a commercial venture - there is no profit being made on organising this event; quite the contrary in fact.

There has been essentially silence on the matter from the Maseratitude board on the forum, save for some very concerned Maseratitude members asking for an explanation of where their money has gone, and what was going to be done to unblock the situation so they could attend the event. On checking today with some French forum members, they have had no news in the last week.

I have had direct contact from the Maseratitude board of directors, so the communication channel certainly works, but there was no mention of monies in that communication, nor even of a repeated intent that they intend to visit Goodwood.

So... after a chat with Matt, the hotel rooms for the Maseratitude party are no longer reserved, and I'm reorganising the other bits and pieces to better reflect the now mostly UK based group attending the event. Great shame....

Thank you Drew for all your efforts in this very difficult situation.

It will still be a fantastic day for us 50 odd UK members.

Very sad for the Frenchies, they do tend to surrender quite easily though so not surprised :)

Oooh, easy Phil, glad you added the smiley face to the end of that one!

In all seriousness, the French forum is having major issues at the moment so I believe more and more of them will find their way over here. Can I ask that we make them feel especially welcome.

He's bitten! Not seen you much on these serious threads mate recently you tend to be on the intellectual "question of the day" thread which is a curveball because you really are the epitome of "dunce" :D
