Wow! SM becoming famous. I reckon we should get some sort of branding for events like this.

Some sort of T-shirt you reckon? ;)

Suggestion form Newton yesterday: Business cards for people that ask.
Suggestion from Mrs Catman and Dan: Baseball caps for the follicularly challenged, send the t-shirts out in advance (and look at better quality), and possibly get some of those upright banner things for the queues.

Guys, I have had the following by email:

How nice of her to take the trouble to track us down online. Great to get some feedback after the event, too. I thought all the people we drove round were great. Although today I have mud, straw, grass and face-paint to clear out of the inside (possibly also some coca cola) and some grass stains and handprints to clean off the outside. Worth every moment and great to help such a worthwhile event.

Drew/Dave, thanks for bringing your stunning QP's along......They where both stunning.....Just a shame I didn't get a ride with you.....

Luckly, we no majoy issues .... Apart from Adam's cone shape mark on his bonnet.......Franks cracked screen from those pesky GTR's....My stone chipped screen from those pesky GTS's...Miles, went through the cones but becuase of a pesky TVR but don't think there was much damage if any.......

Drew, was it a bearing in yours after...?

No damage Andy other than a tiny chip on CF front splitter. TVR will have been much worse. Seemed sensible to knock a couple of cones rather than another car but mental note for next time...don't go near them as they don't seem to go round corners very well!
3 windscreens broken in our gate!
Cheers Blu

For those of you considering track day insurance for bruntingthorpe you need to check that the insurance covers you as it's NOT a track day. Many TD insurers only cover you at events organised by a recognised Track Day Organiser; I dont think ASDA fit that bill.

I believe most road insurance will cover you (since it's NOT a track day) - stories like "its only covered on the road" dont stack up; otherwise beware car parks! Half the time the person on the end of the phone hasnt got a scooby about what youre talking about. If it's not clearly uncovered by the policy and you want to check ask to speak to the underwriters, or get the person on the phone to do so.

I'm hoping that my insurance company will see it like that, I'm going to have a look through the paperwork before phoning them. I have a feeling I'm due a 3k bill for a new windscreen if what Miles was telling me is the case, not spoken to the dealer yet.

Odd, I thought your screen broke on the way home....

If you remember, the damage was caused on the way home, well after the event you went to watch and, if so, will be covered by your insurance windscreen excess. (When it comes to insurance, two can play silly bu66ers!) £80 normally covers it.

I actually don't know where or when it happened but it was pointed out by a passenger. I'm possibly too honest but it's a policy that's done me pretty well up until now. I'll be sure to post what the insurance company say anyway.

There you go, could have easily happened on the way there and you didnt notice. Over a few miles it grew and became noticeable. Simples.

Car looked stunning btw

Bruntingthorpe isnt a track or a circuit; it doesnt have planning permission to be either. I doubt any insurers will have excluded "proving ground", unlike the ring it's not that common! The only common exclusion they might get you under is airfield; from memory I think quite a few firms excluded airside cover at airfields. Down to the wording, but if it has a defacto exclusion for airside (ie not active only) then you're not covered from the second you went on the grass leading to the taxiway.

I hate insurance companies, buggers will require an extra premium for parking on your own drive at this rate.

And a policy which continues to serve me well. I spoke to my insurance company, completely honest with them and they've phoned me back to say that's fine.
