lots of suggestions - the first choice should be west or east! Pyrenees or Asturias. The thing about N Spain is there are featureless highways or the mountain roads but dont expect 4 hours on mountain roads to get more that 130 miles, especially east.

There are lots of places to go to such as Rioja area - Vielha (best roads in spain) and east coast. Or in the west its deserted but less challenging mountain villages.

The Astons do the N260 from Jaca to Ripoli - follow it on google maps!

Agree with that strategy. I suspect that most people have been to Barcelona before as have I (and I'm off for the F1 this year) so I'd rather go to some of the places that you're less likely to get to on an orange aeroplane.

I work with a guy from Asturias, sadly I won't see him till April. He says that it's a bit like England in that it's green. That might be a Spanish Green rather than a deeper English green.

Be a shame not to pop into Andorra, it's the last Western European country I've not been too...apart from Iceland and Sweden but beer is expensive there so I've no interest in going...

And maybe we should end up in Tossa del Mar rather than Lloret...

agreed on the coast i only know Cala Treumal is nice but any decent coast would be OK i guess.

its easy enough to drive into Andorra from the road to Ripoli

I wouldn't mind having a look at Belchite; a town destroyed in the Spanish civil war and left as a memorial, a sort of Spanish Oradour-sur-Glane. I'm sure it's not for everyone but if we get a day off in the area I'll go and take a gander at it.

Saw an interesting sight in the Waitrose carpark in Horley yesterday. A reproduction of a Maserati 4000 (badged as such). I would have loved to see what engine he/she had in it but after waiting for 15 mins for him/her to turn up, I got bored and left. Has anyone seen it before? The pic is one I found on the web.

We are sticking to 18 as a total but I know there are a couple who have paid but may not commit come the time so I would say there is a very hight possibility that one place (car and two) will become available.
