I think I would get someone to do it for me rather than buy the kit as although we get satisfaction of cleaning and waxing a car when you get a professional to do it there is a difference from what I've seen.....The do it for a living so know ever trick in the book..

Get a snow foamer, you wont go back. They are great for dirty cars before you wash. i use one and the actual washing is normally a quick wipe over with a microfibre mit with warm water with NON wax wash. Stops the swirls.

Also always use 2 buckets - really important. One with wash and one to rinse the mit after you have had it on the car, gets the dirty bits off the mit

I'm amazed you haven't got one, Andy. One of my favourite cleaning tools. To avoid swirling you want to touch the bodywork as little as possible - this helps a lot towards that goal.

Thanks Enzo. sounds like good advice. How far does Swissvax go? I see that it's £39.99 for 50ml via ebay; is that enough to do all four wheels?

oops missed this... easy do all wheel with product left over. most waxes you want to put on thin layers and build them up

Thanks Enzo.

Bring it around to me and I'll do it for ou Adam....WOuldn't be the first time I've worked on a forum car.

Helluvan offer Andy, thanks. Having seen how your car comes out after you've given it some love it would be a travesty to not pay you!

Finally dealt with mine this morning. Well, most of it. Am a convert to Maguiars Gold wash, microfibre wash mit and drying towel, Maguiars squirty detaily stuff and AutoGlym HD wax (although only forward of the front doors has ben wxed so far). Looking good!

Thanks Enzo. We've got a bit of thread overlap here! I am not going to Bruntingthorpe, but am generally around in August, so should be able to arrange something.

Apologies for the change in weather - I spent 5 hours cleaning my QP yesterday. It's raining here today, obviously. :(

We combined to tempt fate... washed mine yesterday, woke up to rain today. But now it's cleared, the sun is out and the roads are (mostly dry).

Swissvax autobahn just arrived. It smells great. I have applied a layer to my entire body so not only do I smell good but showering should in the future be quicker and more effective.

I bet you have trouble not slipping when cornering, though.

Probably shaves a good 10-15% off your swimming times, too.

I washed and buffed thoroughly first, Frank. Under my gossamer-thin coating of an enticing carnauba blend I am as pure and fresh as the driven snow.

Just don't tell, Mrs. N. She may not understand.
