Stuck thermostat, IMHO
C
Not normally too much of an issue, will effect consumption slightly .I would be getting it done next time something was getting done, not a special trip. Others may disagree though. What may it cause? Should i change it asap?

Hi.
My car’s water temp. usually sits around 65C when driving and 90C when in traffic. Are these values normal? I get no warning light or etc.
My QP always sat just under 90 and just over when sat in traffic for a while.
I stand corrected - just spoke with my dealer who says (as forum members suggest above) that the normal operating temperature for the car should be between 85C and 90C. The 65C you are experiencing and the 70C I am experiencing may indicate a 'thermostat open' problem. It is not super serious as Catman says but is likely to get progressively worse and will need to eventually get fixed.
Thank you for the correction. I also asked my dealer and they say it is normal for many Italian cars. I’ll be getting a new thermostat anyway just to be sure.
Superformance do a reasonable priced replacement it’s listed for a Ferrari F430
+1 on my 2008 granturismo 4.2My QP always sat just under 90 and just over when sat in traffic for a while.
looks to be plenty of space.............on the exploded diagramI doubt its as easy as 2 bolts on a very exposed elbow like my old escort, but is it much of a ballache to get to??
