I think an early Cayman S is one the best modern drivers cars around, I suspect the 3.2 Boxster is similar but I have only driven a 2.7 and that was just a bit lacking
Four years ago I took a 981 Cayman for a test drive courtesy of Porsche Towcester for a few hours, strangely, for someone in my fifties it was the first Porsche I'd ever driven and I couldn't believe how light and quick it felt for its size. The build quality shone through from the moment I sat in it. I've also looked into the earlier 987 generation 2.7s and still think about buying one occasionally, but I have to keep reminding myself to step back a bit as deep down only a Maser will do at this point in my life.
Dicky's comment about the sweet spot being in the 1990-2015 range got me thinking, I'd never really looked into this period much before but I think he is spot on. I've only recently started looking into Masers of this era and if I were able to right now, I'd snap up the blue Ghibli he currently has for sale as quick as a flash, it ticks all the right boxes for me, even as an auto (as does another Ghibli for sale elsewhere, which has also been through Dicky's hands in the past).
What a nice dilema to have though OP, to have a really nice Grantursimo and teetering on the edge of keeping or selling it
