    Sad day but sleeping better

Thanks, Sir. Now, the GT and 159 are chalk and cheese. The 159 is a great car but is heavy (solid and very safe). The 2.4JTDm is a great engine but thirsty (sub 30mpg) and both the 2.4 and 1.9 had DPF issues. Be careful about those who have remapped and fettled with the cars......The GT is...

    Sad day but sleeping better

Gents, After a wonderful 14 months of owning a 2006 QP, I have had to say enough is enough. Many thanks to all who have posted advice - much appreciated. I will keep watching from a distance. Whilst I have ensured the car is in perfect condition, done the PPI and budgeted for a significant...

Fallen in love all over again

Well a 1,500mile round trip was enough to rekindle the love affair after a few recent frustrations with coolant leaks and some other bits. Driving from Geneva to Monza via the Grand St. Bernard Pass (of ItalianJob fame....Matt Monroe "on days like these") down to Aosta and on to Bergamo which...

Summer of bad luck with the QP

Summer of bad luck with the QP

Urm...you missed the variators (a 5-6k fix) and the alternator. I do agree that this is a supercar and super car prices demand supercar maintenance. The point of my post was not to diss the brand...just to express frustration at some recent bad luck. Greetings from Lake Garda. Have a great...

Summer of bad luck with the QP

Oh and Shiltech in the uk did a very thorough review of the car in May when i was over. All in good shape and services done early.

Summer of bad luck with the QP

Its a fair point but i've heard that the Italians tend to charge less per hour but the work take more hours. Well la dolce vita and all that stirring the sauce. These Swiss lads know their stuff and the parts and work are covered for a period of time. Will in love all over again tomorrow but...

Summer of bad luck with the QP

Hi Everyone, Greetings from Switzerland. For those of you who've had a trouble free summer with your Masers, congratulations! Unfortunately, I've had a fair run of bad luck with the car over the summer and since I drove the car back to the UK for a service at Shiltech in May. Here's the list...

    Post recall experience

All, Just had the tie rods done as part of the recall here in Switzerland. Not sure what the experience of others has been but the car feels tighter! The alignment and balancing was done as part of the work. Also had the anti-trap sensor replaced on driver window.....a facelift QP was in for...

    QP - wayward window

F-F-S....first a bearing and now I have exact same issue with the driver window (left hooker). Window currently up having gone all the way down and then raising in small increments. Dealer informed with sensor p/n and I've told them to order in and complete the job when they do the tie-rods as...

Have you heard about this Maserati recall?

I love this forum. Just contacted my main dealer in GVA about the campaign and they have confirmed the car is in the campaign and parts are on order. Sensational stuff. Thanks!

    Bearing

Not sure....they kindly delivered the car back and my independent warranty is taking care of the charge so wasn't too interested. However the steering is definitely tighter so there was obviously some play that had developed. Interesting it was front left......hopefully the others will keep...

    Bearing

All, Well I was right. Front left bearing was on its way. Now silent - just the woosh of wind noise. Touch wood no more issues for a while. Thanks to you all for your inputs Cheers Tim

    Bearing

Hahaha can't hear it over the sound of the engine at 7000rpm:) but seriously on curved sections of the local motorway do think its worse going around right handers (load on front left which is near/driver side in left hookers). Cheers Tim

    Bearing

Yes good thought - but believe calipers were lubed and cleaned during service and the fact its getting worse means its likely to be the bearing. Its got 80k miles on it so i wont be too surprised if it is a bearing! Cheers Tim

    Bearing

Thanks. Brand new pzero's so it ain't the tyres. Plus it was faint on winters too. Don't have ramps so will have to see at the stealership.

    Bearing

Hi all, Would appreciate your thoughts.....I am starting to suspect I have a bearing on the way out.....Shiltech couldn't find any issue but even the new tyres and alignment have not solved a droning noise which starts at around 50-80mph....it seems to be getting slowly worse. Its not...

    Good service from Shlltech

Ren, Shiltech sourced and fitted them (not sure if it was a mobile fitter). You best drop Geoff a line to see if he can get some. I got them for a good price (all 4 for 1200GBP which is good compared to here in Switzerland). Not sure how this compares to UK prices generally - it was just easier...

    Good service from Shlltech

I did indeed and as you say stunning. It was in progress when I was there....superb. There was also a very nice grey QP and one with a Greek flag on the back going in for a new clutch.
